He didn't respond, his focus unwavering, I watched helplessly as he continued to search, his hands moving frantically beneath the water. My heart clenched with every second that passed. The diamond was just a piece of jewelry, something replaceable. But Lorik... I

couldn't bear the thought of losing him.

Just when I thought he might give up, Lorik's hand suddenly shot out of the water. His fingers were wrapped tightly around something small and shiny. The crowd gasped as he emerged from the water, holding the diamond ring high above his head. The sunlight hit the stone, making it glisten with a blinding brilliance. It was almost too much to look at, like something out of a dream.

"Why?" I managed to ask, my voice thick with emotion as he swam back to shore. "Why would you do that? You knew I wouldn't accept it."

Lorik climbed out of the water, his clothes clinging to him, water streaming from his hair and body. He approached me, the diamond ring held out in his hand, his eyes softening as they met mine.

"Because," he said quietly, "I made a promise to you. I said that you were the only Luna for me, and I meant it. This ring belongs to you, even if you're not ready to accept it now."

His words hit me like a wave, and for a moment, I couldn't speak. Tears welled up in my eyes, and I looked away, not wanting him to see how much his gesture had affected me. But he reached out, gently lifting my chin so I had to meet his gaze.

"I didn't do this to pressure you," he continued, his voice soft but steady. "I did it to show you that I'm- serious. I'll wait for you, Shirley. However long it takes."

I reached out and took this meaningful ring from him and said with mixed emotions.

"This ring is being hosted with me for now, but it doesn't mean anything more than that. If you back out, you can always ask for it from me.'

Lorik nodded, his smile small but genuine. "I'll never go back on my word."

For a moment, we just stood there, the tension between us melting away into something softer, something that felt like hope. Then, as if the spell had broken, the crowd began to clap and cheer. Lorik gave them a small wave, acknowledging their support, but his focus remained on me.

The rest of the day passed in a blur. Lorik changed into dry clothes and drove me back to the villa where I was staying. We didn't talk much on the way, the silence between us comfortable but heavy with unspoken words. When we arrived, he walked me to the door, his hand brushing mine in a

gesture that was both reassuring and grounding.

Get some rest," he said gently. "You've been through a lot today."

I nodded, watching him as he turned to leave. But just as he reached his car, I couldn't help but glance out the window. He hadn't driven away yet. Instead, he stood by the car, lighting a cigarette and staring at the sky as if lost in thought. When he noticed me watching, he smiled, putting out the

cigarette and waving.

I gave him a small wave back, my heart swelling with a mix of emotions I couldn't quite name. As I turned off the lights and crawled into bed, I couldn't stop thinking about him-about the lengths he

had gone to for me, about the way his eyes had softened when he'd looked at me. I fell asleep with those thoughts swirling in my mind, my dreams filled with images of him diving into the water, hafraid and resolute.

A few days had passed since that fateful day at the pond. I tried to bury myself in work, but my thoughts kept drifting back to Lorik, his determined face as he swam through the water, and the way he had cradled that diamond ring like it was the most precious thing in the world. No matter how

hard I tried to focus, the memory of his actions haunted me, filling me with a mix of guilt and confusion.

It was during one of these distracted moments at work when my phone rang. It was Lorik's Beta,

Panther. The urgency in Panther's voice sent a chill down my spine.

"Luna, Alpha hurt his leg," he said, each word heavy with worry. "Can you come over now?" After I Let Go My Alpha, He Knelt in Regret
