A Surprising Twist of Fates (Sierra and Theo)

Chapter 116 Completely Mesmerized

Sierra maintained her polite smile and simply replied, "Thank you."

"You're welcome." Felicia grinned, her expression light and cheerful. It was as if she were just an easygoing, carefree girl.

"Felicia, I misunderstood you earlier. Sorry about that," Cayden apologized.

"It's fine. In that situation, I understand why you'd think that." Felicia responded with a slight blush, her tone shy and demure when speaking to Cayden. "You should focus on helping Sierra. I'll go practice now."

He nodded, and Felicia turned to leave the piano room.

Once she was gone, he turned to Sierra. "Janice has a bit of a princess syndrome, but she's not a bad person. Don't let what she said get to you. I'll ask Ms. Anderson to talk to her."

Sierra let out a small, indifferent smile. "You don't have to do that, Cayden. The more someone tries to convince her, the more she'll hate me. She hasn't liked me for years—I'm used to it. I'll just focus on myself. I'm not bothered by the opinions of others.

She had a calm, composed tone, while her delicate face carried a faint, elegant smile. It was serene yet untouchable, akin to a blossom radiating grace.

Cayden froze for a moment, momentarily entranced by the sight before him.

After a few seconds, he quickly snapped back to reality, lowering his gaze to conceal the emotions flickering in his eyes. He smiled. "Your mindset is admirable, Sierra."

"It's not some grand wisdom," Sierra explained lightly. "It's just... patience. When you get used to enduring, you stop caring. The more you react, the happier your enemies get. Sometimes, ignoring them is the best revenge."

Her slender brows arched slightly as she smiled, a fleeting grace radiating from her like ripples on water. Cayden found himself mesmerized again.

His eyes lingered on her for too long, unable to look away.

"Cayden?" Sierra tilted her head slightly, sensing his gaze. She looked at him, puzzled. "What's wrong?" Cayden snapped out of it, immediately averting his eyes as a faint heat crept up his ears. He coughed lightly, elaborating, "Nothing. I was just thinking... You seem even more insightful than before."

"People change as they grow," Sierra

replied with a soft laugh. "You've changed too, Cayden. You seem more composed and mature now By the way, I heard you already graduated-are you staying at the campus permanently?"

Hearing her compliment, Cayden felt a faint sense of joy and nodded. "Yes, I'm planning to stay on as a music instructor."

"You've always been patient and kind. You'll make a great instructor," Sierra complimented sincerely. "One day, just like Ms. Anderson, you'll probably mentor a whole new. generation of talented musicians."

Cayden looked at her and smiled warmly. "I don't know if I'll be that lucky-to meet another student like you."

Sierra chuckled lightly. "I'm a handful. You wouldn't want another student like me."

His expression shifted slightly, remembering something. He hesitated for a few seconds before finally asking cautiously, "Sierra... I overheard something earlier. You said you broke up. Is that true?"

The smile on Sierra's lips faded slightly. Her long lashes fluttered briefly, but she said nothing.

Cayden immediately regretted asking. "Forget it. I was just curious. If it's uncomfortable to talk about, you don't have to answer."

Sierra shook her head and gave him a small, relaxed smile. "It's fine. Yes, I did break up. But I didn't relearn the piano because of the breakup. came back because I truly love piano. I want to chase my dreams again."
