Chapter 3867
“Really? We’ll see about that.
” Alexis chuckled in response.
Ultimately, it was Alexis who paid the bill and she ordered three cups of coffee.
Glancing at the musician across the street, she asked, “How about a drink for your new friend over there?”
Leonel looked at her thoughtfully and said softly, “Alexis, I was just thinking… if I had taken the time to appreciate what I had back then, maybe we wouldn’t have had to work so hard for all this now.
Alexis gently patted his cheek.
“Life doesn’t deal in what-ifs, Mr.
Douglas.
”
She gazed out the window, murmuring, “Fortunately, it’s not too late.
”
Meanwhile, Olivia found herself unable to avoid an encounter.
Gathering her courage, she greeted, “Nice to see you, Auntie Flora!”
Flora, no longer in her youthful prime yet still elegantly poised, wore a body-hugging dress with a fur coat, giving her an old-fashioned yet distinguished appearance.
However, she stayed current with trends, evidenced by her handbag-a limited edition from a renowned designer worth over two hundred thousand dollars.
Upon entering the Fowler residence, Flora removed her fur coat, and a servant promptly offered her a cup of coffee along with the List.
“Mrs.
Fowler is upstairs at the moment.
Please review the list and let us know if there’s anything you’d like to add,” the servant said.
Olivia was trying to slip away when Flora called out, “Olivia, you should look at this list too.
When you get married, I might not be around to help.
It’s best you start learning now.
”
Caught off guard by the comment, Olivia found herself speechless.
With no other option, she resignedly settled back onto the sofa.
During their meeting, a servant interrupted to inform them of a visitor identified herself with the name Yeats.
Disinterested, Flora waved a hand dismissively, “Tell her I’m unavailable right now.
”
The servant nodded and departed.
As Flora attended to her business, Olivia cleared her throat and ventured cautiously, “Is that Raphael’s assistant… Sharon Yeats?”
With a smile, Flora replied, “I believe so! I don’t recall the young lady’s name.
She’s of mo consequence, after all.
Don’t let such trivial matters distract you.
Pay attention, or I’ll have your mother give you a lesson.
”
Olivia was stunned by the dismissal.
She glanced at Flora, who was leisurely texting and sipping her coffee, seemingly as comfortable as if she were in her own home.
Even when Rena joined them downstairs later, Flora remained unflustered, as relaxed as ever.
As the sun began to set, Flora discreetly exited through the back door.
Left with no choice, Olivia drove home alone.
It was then she noticed a black vehicle parked at the front door.
Sharon, dressed neatly in a suit, appeared anxious as she waited beside the car.
Recognizing that Sharon was likely waiting for Flora, Olivia decided not to stop but slowly drove past.
To her surprise, Sharon recognized the car and gestured for her to stop.
Annoyed, Olivia braked and asked impatiently, “How can I help you?”
