Raphael pressed further.

Just as Olivia struggled for a response, a woman’s voice called out, “What do you think of this dress, Ray? Is it too plain for the engagement party?”

Suddenly, Sharon appeared.

She wore a light pink dress that beautifully highlighted her figure, complementing Raphael’s attire.

She mentioned… an engagement party!

It dawned on Olivia that they were planning their engagement.

A slight tightness gripped Olivia’s heart, but she maintained her composure.

Facing the couple, she offered softly, “Congratulations”

After saying this, Olivia couldn’t help but blink.

But Raphael just stared at her unblinking.

Maybe even Olivia herself was unaware of the fact that she always blinked whenever she told a lie.

Pasting a faint smile on her face, Sharon opened her mouth to speak, but all of a sudden, Raphael wrapped his arm around her waist.

“We’re going to be engaged in a few days.

Will you attend the engagement party?” he asked, with his eyes fixed on Olivia, observing the expression on her face.

Olivia became more and more nervous as Raphael continued to stare at her.

After a while, she murmured, “Of course.

I’ll even bring a big present.

Not only for the engagement, I’ll also be present for the wedding.

”

“Did I tell you I would invite you for the wedding?” Raphael scoffed in a mocking tone.

“Miss Evans, except for the fact that we are former classmates, I don’t think we are that close.

Or are we?”

Olivia was stunned to hear him say this, and her eyes became filled with tears.

She knew that Raphael was deliberately embarrassing her.

Truly, it was working.

She felt highly embarrassed right now.

But so what? She had already gone through worse, so she didn’t give a damn anymore.

“You’re right,” she said with a faint smile.

“There is no need for us to be in frequent contact since you’re just an old acquaintance.

She paused for a moment.

Then she added, “I have an appointment, so I have to leave now.

I wish you two a happy married life in advance.

”

Olivia looked and sounded so graceful.

When she walked past them and went upstairs, Raphael kept staring at her receding figure.

His face was practically trembling with anger.

For a long time, even after Olivia had gone out of sight, Raphael didn’t look away, nor did he give a damn about the beautiful woman that was standing right beside him.
