A love to last

Chapter 24 Ep24

nother. There are no morals. They'd gladly let Kace use it as a hiding spot if he brought a girl along as an offering.

The thought had Falcon's fists clenching. If he was right and she really was in that place right now, then he was losing precious time. He had to have been there yesterday. God knows what they had already done to her.

He let a growl rip from his throat as swung around, looking for something to hit.

"I have to get down there," he gritted through clenched teeth. "I just have to get there. Now."

By this time, Michael had made his way over to where Falcon was standing and laid what was meant to be a calming hand on his shoulder.

"We can't just walk into the place with no plan," he said plainly, but Falcon couldn't accept that

answer.

"Fucking watch me!" he almost screamed. "That's your god damn daughter and my girl in there! How are you not as mad as I am that something could have already happened to her?"

The hand on his shoulder tightened, Michael's grip turning harsh as he scowled.

"I want to get her back just as much, if not more than you do," he said with force.

"Then why the fuck are we just sitting here?" Falcon yelled, throwing his hands out either side of him in a frustrated gesture.

"Because I'm not about to get myself, nor the boy my daughter loves, killed," he frowned. "If we die, she dies."

Falcon could see the logic behind his words, but that didn't stop the fire that was burning beneath the surface of his skin. He felt useless. He felt helpless. He had allowed for her to be taken from him for the second time, and this time he didn't even have the power to exchange himself for her life.

He felt trapped.

He knew his brother was playing with him; creating a game out of threatening lives. For the first time in his life, Falcon truly wished death upon Kace. He didn't know how or why he had ever looked up to a boy who was capable of this.

Perhaps it wasn't Falcon being physically hurt, but his life was on the line. He couldn't wait around for the perfect time. If she died, he died. No matter what logic there was in Michael's words, he could not stay in that house for another second.

He began to shake his head as his thoughts jumbled in his mind. His heart began to beat faster, a nervous chill entering his body as he shook out his hands.

"I can't," he spoke quickly. "I'm sorry, but I can't just sit around and do nothing."

Without waiting to hear if Michael would argue, Falcon bolted for the door. He moved quickly, strapping on his helmet before throwing a leg over his bike and turning the key. He knew his way to The Link like the back of his hand and before he could comprehend, he was down the road and making a left towards his part of town.

He had no idea what his plan was once he got there. His mind could only focus on one thing; getting his girl back.

For the first time, the door to the room Freya was being held in, opened. For a moment, the light that filtered in from the outside world shocked her eyes and left her blinking profusely in an effort to adjust to the sudden change.

Once her vision had returned to normal, she was greeted with a face she had wished to never see again. In the doorway, stood the smiling, smug figure of Falcon's brother.

Falcon seemed to have rubbed off on her as a few choice names ran through her head and irritation filled her. Kace only grinned as the scowl on her face grew.

"If it isn't my favourite sister-in-law," Kace took a few steps forward and crouched in front of

where Freya had curled herself up against the wall. "How are you, huh?"

His hand began to reach out for her face, but Freya jerked back shoving his hand away with one

of her own. She could practically sense his want to roll his eyes and he quickly snatched her arm in his grip, hoisting her upright as he stood.

"I hope you don't mind," he pulled something out of his pockets that made a metallic clank as it moved in his grip. "But I can't have you getting handsy with me."

She attempted to tug herself away from his grip for a second, but she knew it was useless. He was so much stronger than her.

Kace roughly turned her to face away from him and brought both her hands together behind her back. She felt cold metal touch the insides of her forearm before it clicked around her wrists and her brain made the connection. Handcuffs.

The other cuff was attached to her opposite wrist, and Kace's hands slid up to rest in the crooks of her elbows.

"Are they too tight?" he asked, his breath fanning her ear.

Freya violently jerked away, trying to twist her arms from his grip that only hardened the more she tried.

"Why do you care?" she bit out as she struggled.

A hand delicately moved a piece of hair from her face, her thrashing becoming wilder than before.

"I can't have my pretty prize getting hurt, now can I?" he said in the softest voice she had ever heard him use.

His tone only served to turn her stomach and she stamped her foot down in a desperate attempt to gain some leverage on him. She was able to turn herself around to face him, only to see that in place of his previously smiling face, there was a deep scowl etched into the harsh lines of his mouth.

"You know," he pushed her against the wall, his grip on her arm groing harsher as her skin was pinched between his hand and the cement wall. "I could have let someone touch you by now; they're all fighting over who gets to you first. But because I brought you in, I'm going to be the first person to have some fun."

Panic froze her stomach as pure fear flodded her veins. She was finally beginning to understand why she was truly here.

"Consider it generous," he leaned closer to her face. "At least you'll lose it to someone you know."
