A Farewell After Being Reborn

Chapter 54

Chapter 54

Wanda looked at Sage in confusion, “Mrs, Holcomb, aren’t you helping Mr. Holcomb upstairs to rest? He might catch a cold if he sleeps on the couch in this weather.

“He’s not a sickly man. He won’t catch a cold so easily.”

Sage raised the blanket she was holding, “Also, I got a blanket for him, didn’t I? Just put it on him.”

She felt that this should be enough to express her gratitude.

Wanda took the blanket. She was a little hesitant. “Mrs. Holcomb, isn’t this the blanket you placed on the lounge chair to step on?”

Sage liked to go around barefoot at home. She also liked to jump and stretch on the lounge chair for no reason. So, she tossed a blanket on the chair to prevent it from getting dirty.

“It’s okay. It’s not dirty,” Sage said. “I don’t have any extra blankets other than

this one.”

Wanda glanced at the various pretty and clean blankets on the bed and in the chair. She looked like she wanted to say something.

“Those are my favorites. I can’t let lan use them!” Sage protected her blankets.

“But-”

“No buts.” Sage urged, “This is the best one. Wanda, just take it downstairs!”

Wanda was speechless.

At noon the next day, in the president’s office of Holcomb Corporation, Terry and lan had just returned after a meeting at Bolton Investment.

When Terry saw the fatigued look on his boss‘ face, he said in concern, Mr. Holcomb, if you’re feeling unwell, you should just rest. Call me if you need. anything.”

Tan didn’t say anything more as he walked into the office. But then, he found Calvin lying on the couch while fiddling with his phone.

When Calvin saw Ian, he rushed up to the latter with exaggerated movements.

“lan, I’ve finally met you! I waited the whole day for you yesterday, and I also waited the whole morning today. You’re even busier than the president of the country!”

When Calvin got up, a dark gray blanket on the couch fell to the floor.

Ian’s expression darkened. “Who gave you permission to use that?”

Calvin turned around and glanced at it. “The air–conditioning in your office is too cold. I found a blanket in your cabinet, so I borrowed it for a while.”

Ian said to Terry, who was outside the door, “Get two security guards here and tell them to toss this man out.”

“Ian, don’t!”

Calvin walked past Ian and waved at Terry. “It’s me!”

Calvin shut the office door tightly. Then, he asked Ian pitifully and curiously,

What did I do to offend you? Why are you treating me like this and curiously,

“I called you two days ago, but your phone was turned off. I couldn’t contact you last night, either. Now that I’ve finally met you, you tried to get someone to drive me out!”

Ian gave him a cold glance. Then, he sat on the armchair. He looked a little tired.

Calvin hastily followed him. He was about to take a seat when Ian said coldly, Pick it up.”

“What?” After Calvin asked the question, he finally realized that Ian was telling him to pick up the blanket on the floor. He couldn’t understand why, but still, he picked it up and tossed it on the couch.

“Put it back and fold it exactly the way it was folded when you found it,” Ian said coldly.

$15 BONUS

Calvin reluctantly did as he was told. He mumbled in dissatisfaction, “Isn’t this too much? It’s just a blanket, and it’s not even a new one. I can just compensate for it…”

Ian sat on the couch. He tilted his head backward as he rubbed his slightly throbbing temples. He ignored Calvin’s complaints.

“Ian, why are you so tired? Did you not sleep well last night?”

After placing the blanket back in place, Calvin opened the door and called the secretary over to make some new coffee as if it were the most natural thing in the world. Then, he asked Ian the question.

Ian ignored him.

“Don’t tell me you were fooling around with women.” Recalling the message two days ago, Calvin instantly widened his eyes. “Ian, did you seriously have an affair?
