A Drunken Decision Cynthia Chapter 82
Chapter 82
By the time Mary got home with her parents–in–law, Brenda had already prepared dinner. The Johnson family had invited their guests to stay for dinner, but Donald and Susan insisted on coming back to eat with Annabelle. The way they showed off their family bliss annoyed Kevin Johnson. Annabelle was also his granddaughter–in–law. What was there for them to be gleeful about?
However, Kevin fumed when he thought about how they could eat with Annabelle every day while he had only eaten one meal with her so far.
Upset, he no longer wanted to keep Donald and Susan for dinner. He could not wait for them to leave his house.
Kevin started venting his frustrations on Irving Johnson, who had gone home for dinner that night. He chided Irving for remaining single even though he hung out with Lucas every day. After all, Lucas‘ wife was already pregnant.
Irving was puzzled when Kevin chided him for remaining single. He was only 26 years old. Why did he have to get married so early?
Mary did not dare to say anything when she saw his nephew being reprimanded. After all, it was because of having her parents–in–law over.
However, Mary could not blame them for making her parents. After all, she was also boasting to Nathan and his wife about her daughter–in–law’s
pregnancy.
Cough, cough, cough.
Hence, it was awkward for them to have dinner with the Johnson family. Mary left with Donald and Susan. At the same time, they also took away the pot of rare flowers that Kevin had painstakingly obtained. Mary had told him Annabelle loved flowers.
Though boiling with rage, Kevin was unable to get his flowers back. He was afraid that Danold and Susan might accuse him of refusing to give the flowers to their beloved granddaughter–in–law.”
As soon as they got home, Donald and Susan went to Annabelle to give her the flowers.
“Don’t you say you’re going to open a flower shop?” Donald asked Annabelle affectionately, “When your shop is open, you can display this pot of flowers in your shop. You can treat it as the shop’s prized possession.”
“This pot of flowers is too expensive. I can’t accept it!” Annabelle was a little embarrassed. Mary’s parents liked the pot of flowers very much too. She felt bad bringing it to her shop.
“Don’t feel bad about it.” Susan waved her hand dismissively and said, “If they like the flowers so much, they can always go to your shop to buy them.”
Annabelle was put in a spot. “How can I do this?”
Elizabeth, who was sitting on one side, was initially still bothered by the self–reflection essay. When she heard what Susan said, she immediately became excited.
“When Grandfather buys it from our shop, Grandpa, Grandma, you can go to his house and take it away again. He will then have to buy it back again!”
Everyone turned around and looked at Elizabeth.
“What’s the matter? Sis Annabelle and I just set up the business. As elders, shouldn’t you support us?”
Annabelle suddenly felt that Elizabeth was right, so she nodded and looked expectantly at the rest of them.
“I’ll support you.” Mary was the first to show her support. “From now on, you will be in charge of our family’s garden. You can charge me the market price. You don’t have to give me a discount.”
“I’ll leave the greenery in my office to you too,” Timothy said.
“I’ll let you manage the plants in the entire Pearl Building,” Lucas promised.
Everyone’s eyes then fell on Donald and Susan.
It was only then that Donald and Susan realized that Lucas had already spoken for the family’s business. They had nothing else to offer to the girls. They wondered if they had to go to the Johnson family’s house to take back the pot of flowers every time and become money–making machines for their flower shop,
It was fine if they did it once or twice, but if they kept doing the same thing, the Johnson family might not want to have anything to do with them
anymore.
“We have quite a lot of friends. Shall I introduce them to you?” Susan asked. She tried to make them forget about taking the pot of flowers back from Kevin.
“Introduce them? What if they don’t want to buy our flowers?” Elizabeth was not satisfied with Susan’s offer.
Susan was exasperated. It was their business, and she was going to introduce customers to them. It was their duty to retain the customers.
However, when she saw Annabelle’s eager expression, she swallowed her words.
Susan looked at Annabelle with a doting smile. “Don’t worry, Donald and I still have some influence among our friends.”
“Grandma, you’re amazing!” Annabelle praised her grandmother–in–law.
Susan immediately forgot her irritation and beamed proudly.

Donald did not want to be outdone by his wife. He quickly declared that he had more friends Susan. When the time came, he would do his best to Introduce more customers to them.
However, before Annabelle could praise him, Susan got angry. Susan pinched his ear. “Who else do you know that I don’t know?”
Donald was speechless. Why must his wife embarrass him in front of the children and grandchildren?
Donald was annoyed, and he refused to eat that night as Susan glared at him coldly at the dining table. When dinner was finally over, he returned to his room angrily with his hands behind his back.
The Walker family was used to it. Only Annabelle was worried for them.
A harmonious family would prosper together. If the family was at odds with each other, there would be trouble.
Annabelle was wondering if she should stop a potential fight when Lucas quickly pulled her upstairs.
Lucas‘ indifferent attitude irritated Annabelle greatly.
Just as she was about to have a good talk with him, he patted her head and told her to stop making a fuss.
Annabelle rolled her eyes..
“Grandpa only feels embarrassed in front of you. Usually, he doesn’t dare to be angry with Grandma. Look, he said that he doesn’t want to eat. Did he eat any less tonight?”
Annabelle thought about it carefully. Indeed, Donald usually ate very little during meals anyway.
“Do you believe that he’s now trying to explain everything to Grandma?” Lucas looked at her and asked.
Annabelle wondered if Daonal afraid of Susan.
“It’s not fear. It’s love,” Lucas said with a smile. “Do you know why our office building is called Pearl Building? Pearl is Grandma’s middle name.
Annabelle was taken by surprise. Donald was so romantic to name the building after his wife.
“If you like it, I can also build an office called Annabelle Building” Lucas pinched her face and said with a smile.
When Annabelle heard this, she shook her head repeatedly. It would cause a lot to building a new office.
All fo a sudden, Annabelle regained her senses. “Do you mean you’ve already fallen in love with me?”
Lucas thought to himself, ‘How dumb can she be?”
That was what he thought in his heart, but he did not say it out loud. “Dream on! If you want me to fall in love with you, then learn to be a lady. Don’t keep hanging out with Elizabeth and cause trouble.” After saying that, he turned around and walked toward the bathroom.
“Who’s causing trouble?” Annabelle was displeased. She did not know if she was upset with Lucas for telling her to dream on. She followed him to the bathroom while muttering to herself, “Are you feeling sorry for your childhood friend?”
