A Drunken Decision Cynthia Chapter 77
Chapter 77
“Lucas, don’t look at this irrelevant information. Read further down the report.” Howard was starting to get a little anxious. At the same time, he was also feeling a little regretful about Lucas‘ reaction. If he had known that Lucas was taking the matter so lightly, he would have destroyed the useless
report earlier.
Unfortunately, Lucas ignored him and continued to look at the detailed information regarding Annabelle leisurely.
Her favorite color had been the same since she was a child. They were all pastel and sickly sweet colors like pink.
It was reported that when Annabelle was in kindergarten, she was especially close to a little boy. She even cried for a few days because he had migrated to another country.
When Lucas read that, he frowned slightly. “You had a boyfriend in kindergarten?”
Annabelle did not know what to say.
She was only a child when she was in kindergarten. How could she have a boyfriend?
Annabelle did not want to answer such a frivolous question. Unfortunately, Lucas refused to let her off. He pinched her nose, insisting on an answer.
“I really can’t remember, Annabelle felt very helpless. “Who didn’t have a playmate when they were young? Don’t you have many too?”
“My kindergarten…” Lucas thought about his childhood and kept quiet immediately. He then realized that if he did not explain himself, Annabelle would think that he was hiding some secret. He shot back, “I was only a child. You can’t blame me for being ignorant.”
Annabelle simply nodded.
Lucas continued to read further. When Annabelle was in elementary school, she instigated her classmates to climb over the school’s wall. In the end, she was hit in the head by a brick that fell from the wall.
“You’ve done such a dangerous thing before?” Lucas was shocked. He could not believe that someone so demure like her would dare to climb over the wall.
Before Annabelle could say anything, the two people sitting opposite him looked on excitedly. Lucas was finally going to see Annabelle’s true colors. What was the big deal about climbing over the wall? She had done even worse things.
“No, I didn’t!” Annabelle remembered the incident very clearly. Her mouth curled up as she thought about what had happened then. “It was that person who climbed the wall and caused the brick to fall and hit my head. I was innocent.”
It happened during her fifth year in elementary school. Her last lesson that day was physical education. As the summer vacation was about to start, the weather was very hot. The physical education teacher did not want to make things difficult for the students. After running three rounds around the field, he allowed the students to do whatever activities they wanted. Annabelle found a shady tree to hide from the sun. Unexpectedly, two naughty students wanted to climb up the tree to get over the school wall. She was feeling hot and sleepy then and did not notice their presence. By the time she reacted, the brick had already landed on her head.
“You don’t know how detestable they are. Seeing that I’d lost so much blood, they thought that I was dead. They were so scared and didn’t dare to take responsibility for their actions. Instead, they claimed that I had climbed the wall with them. Fortunately, many students saw me sleeping under the tree, as how I was cleared of all blame.”
Lucas raised his eyebrows and looked at the report in his hand. There was no description of her being wronged,
However, Lucas still believed Annabelle.
He suspected that his wife was a dimwit
Of course, Annabelle did not know what he was thinking. Otherwise, she would be angry with him. Did she not even have the brain to lie?
Yolanda and Howard were at a loss for what to say.
“Why are your grades in elementary school so bad?” Lucas looked at the graduation section and sighed.
“They’re average.” Annabelle thought for a moment and said, “They were even worse in middle school and high school.”
Annabelle majored in art, and she did not have to meet a high entry score for her course. Otherwise, with her results, she would not be able to enter university.
Lucas finally said, “Well, I only need my kids to look like you.”
When Annabelle heard this, she did not disagree. Instead, she was in full agreement. “Indeed, if they take after me, they will suffer during the exams.
“Okay, don’t talk to me anymore. I’m going to sleep.” Annabelle then snuggled into Lucas‘ arms.
Lucas was lounging on the couch with his legs on the coffee table. Annabelle was lying on the sofa with her back facing Howard and Yolanda. Her upper body was leaning against Lucas.
Yolanda watched as she hugged Lucas‘ waist with both hands. Her radiant face pressed against Lucas‘ chest. Yolanda’s eyes flashed with rage. If not for the fact that she could still think rationally, she would have long gone up and torn Annabelle away from Lucas.
“Yolanda thought, “What a shameless woman! She must be doing this on purpose. How can the Walker family not even have a bed? If she wants to
sleep, she can go to her room to sleep. Why is she sleeping in the living room?

“She’s from a humble family. No wonder she doesn’t know the rules of rich families.”
However, these were just her own opinion. The calm and serious Lucas did not seem to find Annabelle’s behavior inappropriate. When he heard that she wanted to sleep, he tossed the report that he had painstakingly asked someone to investigate aside. With one hand holding Annabelle, he patted her back gently with the other, as if he was coaxing a child.
“Luças, you….” Yolanda felt indignant. When did Lucas become like this? Before she could finish speaking, Lucas stopped her with a warning glare.
“I’m going to sleep. Let’s talk later.” Lucas deliberately lowered his voice. Halfway through his sentence, he paused and looked at his watch. He continued, “Come back and look for me in two hours.”
Yolanda wanted to say something else, but Howard pulled her back.
Howard did not know if it was because of how Lucas kicked him earlier, but he was quite afraid of Lucas now. A simple glare from Lucas would remind him of the feeling of being thrown in the air. Before that, he had only experienced this feeling when he was young.
He had forgotten how it felt for so long. Lucas had successfully reminded him about it. Once bitten, twice shy. He never wanted to go through that ordeal anymore.
“Lucas said that Annabelle wants to sleep. We’ll talk later.” Howard quickly pulled her out of the Walker residence.
Yolanda could only leave with Howard.
“You are a lunatic. What’s wrong with you? Is Annabelle even qualified to be your sister–in–law? Have you forgotten why we’re here?” Yolanda shouted deep down.
Yolanda wanted to shout out her thoughts to him. However, she held it in until her veins were throbbing, and her hands were clenched so tightly that they were cracking. Only then did she swallow those words back.
“Okay, we’ll talk about it later.” Yolanda forced herself to smile at Howard. After saying this, she quickly turned around and left.
She was afraid that if she looked away a little slower, the smile on her face would have transformed into an ugly snarl.
“This idiot was going to stay single for the rest of his life!” Yolanda fumed inwardly.
Even if she became a nun, she would not marry such a person. She was now seething with anger.
Howard followed behind Yolanda. He had no idea how much she despised him. He continued to persuade Yolanda. “Did you get the wrong person? I don’t think Sis Annabelle is that kind of person.”
Yolanda was at a loss for words. She had found someone to investigate the information, not to make up a story. How could she be wrong about such a thing?
