A Drunken Decision Cynthia Chapter 69
Chapter 69
Lucas didn’t spend much time upstairs. Finally, he was still concerned about Annabelle. As she had never been there before, she naturally felt out of place. It would be boring for her to be alone all the time, even if nobody was there to bully her.
Once he had sat up there for a bit, he decided he had done his part. He was going to go downstairs and bring Annabelle home.
Lucas made his way downstairs. Annabelle happened to come out of the bathroom. Annabelle emerged from the bathroom at that moment. Annabelle beamed at the sight of him and walked right up to him.
Lucas refused to let her get too close to him and explained, “I smell like cigarettes. Stand further away from me!”
The smell of cigarettes was something that Annabelle couldn’t stand, and she had never seen Lucas smoke before. She didn’t know if love was really blind, but Annabelle felt that even if Lucas smoked, he would definitely smell different.
However, for the sake of their child, Annabelle didn’t pounce on him.
“Are we going home?” Annabelle looked at Lucas with her big sparkling eyes and asked expectantly.
Not that she had never been to a gala like this before, but she just wasn’t comfortable in social situations like that. She had only been once or twice before she decided she no longer wanted to take part in it.
“Yes!” There was no need to ask. Just by looking at the anticipatory expression on Annabelle’s face, Lucas knew that she wanted to go home. There was nothing for him to hesitate about.
“Alright!” Annabelle replied. She remembered that Hazel was still waiting for her and quickly said, “Then I’ll go and tell Hazel!”
“I’ll go with you!” Lucas said and went with her.
When he got there, he saw Hazel sitting alone from afar. Lucas immediately frowned. Could it be that…. when he went upstairs, Annabelle was also sitting alone in the same place?
Thinking of this, Lucas’s face sank.
“Can I invite Hazel to our house to play?” Annabelle also felt that Hazel looked lonely sitting there alone. Hence, she turned around and asked Lucas expectantly.
With a nod, Lucas agreed. He felt the same way about Hazel as he did for his own sister, Elizabeth. Aside from that, she was a good person. Furthermore, he was more than glad that Annabelle had another friend to keep her company.
Annabelle was instantly happy again.
Hazel was equally happy to hear Annabelle’s invitation. She couldn’t wait to leave this place as soon as possible. Her brother, Howard, was really too disappointing!
“Hi, Lucas!” After accepting to Annabelle’s invitation, Hazel was a little embarrassed to greet him.
Lucas nodded and led the two of them away.
Yolanda, who had been busy all this while, finally seemed to be free at this moment. She quickly walked up to Lucas.
“Lucas, don’t tell me you’re leaving now. I’ll be sad if you do this!” Yolanda looked at Lucas and said in a serious tone.
Annabelle didn’t speak. Hazel walked beside Annabelle. When she saw this, she couldn’t help but roll her eyes.
“There’s nothing to be sad about!” Lucas said nonchalantly, “It’s just a party. There will be plenty of opportunities in the future!”
Yolanda was speechless as she struggled for words. How could that be the same? She couldn’t hold a party for anything. Besides, he came and left in a hurry. What would the other girls think of her?
However, Lucas had clearly made up his mind. There wasn’t anything that could change his mind.
Yolanda understood that if Lucas refused to do anything, she would have no choice but to accept his refusal. As reluctant as she felt, she smiled as she watched him leave.
“Hazel, what are you doing?” Seeing Hazel walking behind Annabelle, Yolanda couldn’t help but raise her eyebrows and ask with a puzzled expression.
Yolanda didn’t dare to reveal what she truly felt in front of Lucas. However, Hazel was different. She was never shy to show what she truly felt.
“I… I am going to Lucas’s home…” Hazel answered softly. Before she could finish speaking, she was interrupted by Yolanda with a frown.
“Did you tell Howard? If you leave without saying a word, how anxious will he be?” Yolanda frowned, looking like she was wondering why Hazel was acting so insensible.
Hazel was furious when she saw this, but she didn’t want to waste her time fighting with Yolanda. She knew that things would not end well for her il she went against Yolanda. Howard would not stand by her side either.
“This is not a three–year–old child!” Lucas said calmly. “If you can’t find her, why can’t you call her? I’ll talk to Howard about this!”
With that, he helped Annabelle put on her coat and left with her.

Naturally, Annabelle did not forget about Hazel.
Hazel only heaved a long sigh of relief when she left the Littleton family’s house.
“Don’t be afraid!” Annabelle patted the back of Hazel’s hand and said softly.
Hazel nodded. She still felt a little aggrieved. Why should she put up with Yolanda’s criticisms if it wasn’t Howard?
She really hated Howard.
The sisters of those around them would be the center of attention to their brothers. However her own sibling, despite her best efforts, never took her seriously. Even worse, he had to put her through pain.
When Lucas saw Hazel in this state, he realized the consequences of his actions and vowed to never abandon her again. His mind wandered to what Annabelle must be like when she is all alone herself as he saw Hazel’s sad state of affairs.
“I’m sorry!” Because Annabelle had been talking to Hazel on the way, Lucas didn’t have the chance to apologize until the two of them were finally in
the bedroom.
Annabelle was having a great time chitchatting with Hazel and Elizabeth. Hazel and Elizabeth were good friends. Elizabeth realized it was becoming late and Howard had no plans to pick her up, so she asked Hazel if she could spend the night. The responsibility for notifying Howard fell squarely on Lucas’s shoulders.
Lucas sent a message to Howard, informing him of this matter. When he didn’t reply, Lucas sent another message to Timothy to tell him about this
matter.
An animated conversation ensued between the three of them. Once Lucas saw how late it was, he went to get her and bring her back to their bedroom on the second floor.
His apology shocked Annabelle. She didn’t understand what he was apologizing for.
“What… What are you sorry for?” Annabelle looked at Lucas and felt a shudder in her heart.
“I didn’t consider that you’re unfamiliar with this place. I’m very sorry for leaving you alone back in the Littleton family!” Lucas said seriously and added, “It won’t happen again!”
