Chapter 93
Chapter 93
Seeing Brian actually speak up for Ariana, Evelyn's expression darkened.
She had always known how much Brian despised Arlana.
It would have been a miracle if he hadn't bullied her.
So, why now...?
Could it be that Brian truly intended to marry Ariana?
Selena let out a sigh of relief when she realized no one was following them. Patting her chest, she exclaimed, "Thank goodness they didn't catch up! Brian is terrifying! With all those people around him, you'd think he was shooting an action movie."
She turned to Ariana, scolding her, "And you-why did you defend Brian? You should've let him and Evelyn sort things out. Now everyone thinks you're trying to steal Mr. Lodge! It's not worth it."
"I wasn't defending Brian. I was defending myself," Evelyn replied.
After everything that had happened in her past life, she wanted nothing to do with Brian.
The farther away she was from him, the better.
Besides, didn't Brian have feelings for Evelyn?
theShe'd gladly step aside and let this ill-fated couple be together.
Just then, Ariana's phone rang.
When she saw it was Belinda calling, she frowned.
What could Belinda possibly want from her now?
Ariana answered the call and immediately recognized the coldness in Belinda's voice.
"Ariana, I'll send a driver to pick you up. I need to ask you something."
Hearing the chill in her tone, Ariana replied, "I'm still at school, so I can't come over right now.""
"I've already notified your school. The driver will be there shortly. Get ready and come now." Without waiting for a response, Belinda hung up.
Ariana let out a bitter chuckle as she stared at the disconnected call.
"Ariana, you're such a fool," she thought to herself.
How could she have ever believed that, no matter what Brian was like, Belinda would genuinely care for her?
Only after living through this second chance did she realize that the entire Lodge family was cut from the same cloth.
Her future grandmother-in-law would never truly care about her.
It had always been about the benefits.
With that thought, Ariana switched off her phone.
The Lodge family's driver arrived promptly, just as expected.
Chapter 93
As Ariana got into the car, the driver glanced at her through the rearview mirror and sald with an impatient tone, Ms. Torrey, why didn't you inform Mrs. Lodge Senior about going to school? We've all been running around because of it."
Ariana was used to such complaints.
The staff worked for the Lodge family and saw themselves as superior. In the past, she had been nothing more than Brian's lapdog-fawning over him and treating everyone from the security guards to the drivers and even the maids with the utmost respect.
As a result, no one had ever treated Ariana, the heiress of the Torrey family, with any real importance. Ariana replied coldly, "It seems I've caused you trouble."
Ignoring her tone, the driver continued, "Ms. Torrey, there's no need for a woman to study so much. You'd be better off focusing on pleasing Mr. Lodge, I'm just trying to look out for you. No matter how educated you are, it won't matter if you can't marry a good husband."
There was a hint of disdain in the driver's voice..
Ariana scoffed. "So, I should thank you for that?"
