In the past, Igor had been a little tyrant at school. Gwen spoiled him so much that he believed being the heir of the Torrey family gave him the right to do whatever he pleased.

At Gleaston University, Igor could usually get away with it. But here, at a high-society event in the Royal Hotel, things were different. Just being here required a certain level of status.

Yet, Igor had invited a group of classmates from ordinary families. His lack of respect for decorum had already upset many guests. From their point of view, these classmates had no place at such an upscale

banquet.

Igor drained another glass of champagne. He saw Elaine heading off toward the restroom, so he gestured to a few of his pals to follow him and block her way.

"Come on. Let's see what happens."

Ariana led Selena toward the corner. They spotted Igor's group surrounding Elaine.

Elaine sensed something was wrong and backed up. "Igor, what are you doing?"

Igor was annoyed that she showed no sign of fear. "What do you think I'm doing? My family showed you respect by agreeing to make you my fiancée, but you turned it down and disrespected me."

Igor, already half-drunk, grabbed Elaine by the arm, trying to force a kiss on her. His friends stood around laughing and egging him on.

Elaine clearly wasn't the timid type. She slapped him across the face. His cheek instantly turned bright red.

Seeing this, Igor's classmates were about to teach Elaine a lesson. Elaine seized the moment and made a run for it.

Igor was furious at being humiliated in front of everyone. When he reached out and grabbed her hair, Ariana shouted from a short distance away, "Igor! What are you doing?"

Her voice was loud enough for others nearby to hear.

The Shaw family also headed over. They saw their daughter with messy hair, running back to them in tears. Luke's face darkened at once.

"Ariana Torrey! You traitorous wretch!" Igor had always disliked Ariana. Seeing her ruin his plans made him scowl angrily.

All the guests looked in their direction. Elaine ran straight into Katherine's arms, crying uncontrollably. The place fell silent.

When Gwen returned, she sensed the disdainful glances people gave her. She still had no idea what Igor had done. She quickly spotted Elaine crying in Katherine's arms.

"Elaine, what... What happened? Why are you crying like this?"

Gwen approached, trying to comfort Elaine, but was met by Elaine's hostile stare.

Katherine also stepped forward. "Mrs. Torrey, we came to your son's birthday out of courtesy, and yet he insulted. my daughter in such a disgraceful manner! What do you have to say for yourself?"

"What? What... What do you mean, insulted her?"

Gwen was dumbfounded. She had no idea what her son had done.

"Mrs. Shaw... There must be some mistake. Igor has always been such a good student..." Chapter 174
