Chapter 21
Chapter 21
LILY
I have absolutely no idea where I’m going. I just know that I need to get far, far away from Marco Marcelli before I burn out of my skin.
I can still feel the touch of his l*ps against mine. My entire spine still tingles from when. I just laid draped all over those hard thighs.
I resist the urge to bang my head against the nearest wall and instead focus on getting to my cla
I’m about to resume my trek to the bus stop when a sleek, black, tinted SUV rolls to a stop in front of me, blocking my path. It’s quite an effort to keep myself from ogling the beautiful and no doubt, expensive car.
try to walk forward and continue my journey but the car follows. My heart starts beating heavily against my rib cage.
I’ve heard news of people being kidnapped by strangers in black, tinted cars…and it’s scary as hell.
When I try to walk once more and the car still follows me, I stop in my tracks and fold my arms beneath my breasts, trying to cover up my fear with annoyance.
After three minutes of just silently sitting there and running its engine, the driver’s door. finally swings open and a muscular man dressed in an expensive black suit and crisp white shirt steps out.
He walks around the car, coming in my direction and I step back cautious/ around for anything I could use as a weapon.

I suddenly remember that I have a little bread knife in my bag, just for situations like. this. I hurriedly get it out and wave it in front of the huge man like a glare torch.
“Take another step towards me and I swear I’ll carve your eyes out.”
He stops in his tracks, then he takes off his glasses and I’m hit by a pair of the most piercing green eyes I have ever seen.
When he speaks, his voice is a deep, dark rumble. He’s gorgeous, but he doesn’t affect me. Not like Marco
“It’s not enough to have a weapon. You need to know how to use it.”
My eyes narrow in confusion, but I’m grateful that he doesn’t take any step closer.

Chapter 21
“I apologise deeply if I scared you, Miss Carson. My name is Dimitri Marcus.”
I shake my head, trying to clear my befuddled brain.
“How did you know my
name?” I whisper.
8.61%
“I’m your b*dyguard and driver. I was assigned to you by the boss himself, Mr. Marcelli,”
I freeze, anger slowly heating my veins. What right did Marco have to send people to watch me?
But something niggles at the back of my mind. I lift my chin and stare him down.
“You’re lying. I’m just leaving Mr. Marcelli’s office. He said nothing about a b*dyguard.”
The man before me shrugs and pulls out his phone.
“You don’t believe me? Why don’t I place a video call to him right now. You can hear it. from him.”
My pulse flutters wildly and I pray fervently that the man is actually some kidnapper. If he was actually sent by Marco, my plans are ruined.
Dimitri dials a number and shoves the phone in my face.
I’m about to add an “Amen” to my prayers when that familiar, handsome-a s-s in face
fills the screen.
My heart drops to the bottom of my shoes.
“Dimitri?” Marco asks.
“Yes, boss. Miss Carson here does not believe you sent me. She wanted proof.”
A second, then;
“Let me talk to her.”
The phone is swung in my direction once more and Marco’s piercing eyes drill into me.
“Lily, get in the car. It’s for your own safety.”
“You sent him?” I ask slowly.
“Of course, I did. Get in.”
I shake my head frantically and step back. Getting in that car will mean accepting this…. this controlling aspect of our relationship.

Chapter 21
“No. I’m not a child, Marco. You can’t keep me confined and watched throughout the day.”
Marco’s eyes turn from light to dead serious in a heartbeat.
“I have a board meeting in the next two minutes. You’re wasting my time, Lily. I said. get in the car.”
I stare helplessly between Dimitri and the annoying man on the screen. This is not going to end well. I can feel it.
“Is this how it’s going to be? Did I sign away my freedom with that contract too? I love walking to school, thank you very much.”
With that, I take the risk, turn and continue on my way. I turn with a trembling heart to see if Dimitri will follow, but he merely shoves the phone into his pocket and leans against the car, his eyes still on me.
I keep looking over my shoulder until I turn the next block. That’s when my heart stops. thumping. I’m about to get out my air pods and listen to some soul lifting music when I hear the skid of tires behind me.
My pulse fluttering, I turn slowly to find the SUV parked just inches away from me. I increase my speed, half running now.
I hear the car door slam and heavy footsteps echo behind me, but I do not turn. I do not even stop to breathe. All around me, people are going about their businesses and I try to lose myself in the crowd…until I feel a large, dark presence behind me.
Within seconds, a yelp sl*ps past my l*ps as strong arms wrap around my waist and throw me over a hard shoulder like I’m nothing but a sack of
I struggle blindly against my captor, trying to get away.

potatoes.
It takes a moment for the delicious, chocolaty scent of male cologne to hit my nostrils before I realise that Marco Marcelli himself came to get wreck havoc.
I struggle even harder, drawing the attention of passers by. I have no idea what Marco tells them because they just smile like a human being is not being kidnapped by ten in the morning, and continue walking past.
“Put me down, Marco. Let go!”
“Kick me one more time and I swear I’ll spa nk your pert little ar se right here on this
street.

Chapter 21
I freeze. No, he’s bluffing. He can’t possibly…
I struggle harder.
“Let go of me! Let goooo!!”
“Remember, you asked for it.” That’s all the warning I get before his open palm descends on my ar se, sending a sharp, stinging pain down my thighs.
I freeze, clutching tightly to him when two more slaps accompany the first one. For every slap, he rubs and squeezes my ar se through the material of my skirt, creating. odd, slightly pleasurable sensations against my clenching core.
I honestly have no idea if I should cry from embarrassment and pain or whimper from insane pleasure.
Instead, I bury my face in his n*eck and go completely still.
Marco, on the other hand, continues carrying me towards the car like nothing out of the ordinary just happened.
When we arrive, Dimitri readily pulls open the door and Marco deposits my stinging ar se in the back seat. I scurry away to the other end, trying to get away from him and pointedly stare out the window.
What I don’t expect him to do is climb into the car after me, dwarfing the once huge space and effectively stealing my breath.
“I thought you had a board meeting?” I ask, still staring out the window.
“Look at me, Lily.” He growls.
I shake my head and continue with my staring.
“You made your point, Marco. I get it. Please, just leave
Strangely, I can feel the heat of his annoyance from way over here.
“Look. At. Me.” He says, slightly louder this time.
Because I know that they’re consequences for disobeying him, consequences that leave me in knots every single time, I turn my head slowly and look at him.
“My board meeting can wait. I wanted to make sure you were safe and sound in the car.”
“I’m not a go ddam n child, Marco. I’m twenty two years old. Twenty two. I’ve been. taking care of myself since….” I ball my fingers into fists and shut my mouth.

Chapter 21
Marco looks like he wants to ask questions, but he just says.
“This is for your safety.”
“My safety or your pleasure?” I sneer in return. “You want to constantly know where I am 24/7 so you can control my life. Don’t I get to live a life of my own outside this. contract? Don’t I get to do what I want? This is beginning to feel like some sort of imprisonment id you ask me.”
Marco’s no longer interested in playing nice. In one smooth move, he grabs my arm and yanks me against the hard, heated wall of his chest.
His eyes burn a smoky, fiery blue.
Sapphire beauty.
“Yes, Lily. You’re absolutely right. Maybe your life begins and ends with me now. Maybe I want to keep you trapped in some beautiful cage so only I can get the pleasure of looking at you everyday. Maybe this relationship is a go dda mn prison, but you will do
as I say and only as I say. Understood
My heart in my throat, I nod silently, the intensity of his words almost stripping me
raw.
“Give me your words, Lily.”
“Yes, I understand. I whisper.”
Just then, his phone rings. Keeping me pressed against him with one hand, he answers. the call with the other, putting the phone on speaker.
“Yes?”
A female voice comes over the speakers,
“Sir, the board members are waiting for you.”
“Ask them to wait a few more minutes. I’m handling a more important matter right now.”
Then he switches off the phone.
A more important matter? Me?
He goes back to just staring at me for a few seconds, then,
“Kiss me, Lily.”

I freeze.
“What?”
“I said k*ss me. I’m not leaving unless you do.”
K61%
I stare at him for a beat, trying to ascertain if he’s serious, but nothing in those fierce eyes imply that he’s joking.
“N-no. I can’t do that.”
He pulls me into his lap and cages me against him.
guess I’ll be with you throughout the day then. Dimitri, we’re ready to leave.”
“No!” I blurt without thinking. If Marco comes along, then I won’t be able to carry out any of my plans for today.
I look away and heave a deep breath.
“Fine, I’ll k*ss you.”
He settles back into the seats with a dark smirk.
“Make it good, or I’m not going anywhere.”
