Chapter 63
Navy
“I love you.”
I laughed as Knox jumped five feet in the air at my mindlink. He looked over at me with wide eyes,
“That’s going to take a minute to get used to. And, I love you, too.”
“Do you like them?” Knox asked aloud as I admired the two conjoining rings on my finger.
“I love them.” I kissed Knox just as Cameron joined us at the table.
“I’ll take one of those please.” Cameron grinned and demanded a kiss of his own.
“Are these from my family collection?” I asked Cam knowing he would understand what I meant.
“Yeah, your father brought them.” Cameron said,
“He had them made into two separate rings when he heard about us.”
“That’s….unexpected.” I said thoughtfully.
“Are you ready for the swim?” Knox asked me.
“We’re doing that?” I looked at him eagerly.
“You ask, I agree.” Knox shrugged and I laughed at him.
“Oh is that how it works?”
“I’ll take the pack for a run and we’ll meet you on the beach. You better be in the water by then.” He warned me and I nodded,
“Yes, my wolf.” I touched his face with my pointer finger before taking Cameron’s hand and walking towards the beach.
“Before the pack gets here, there’s something I want to do.” Cameron said as we undressed and walked into the water.
“What’s that?” I smirked at him as our legs shifted into tails. I swam over to him and wrapped my arms around his neck.
“I want to make you mine forever.” He purred, pressing his nose against my cheek.
“I already am. Besides, isn’t that what this means?” I whispered, holding up my ring finger.
“Not like that.” He said, kissing my neck.
“Right now?” I gasped.
“Right now.” He started sucking on my bare marking spot,
“Before they get here.” He added with urgency. I pulled away and held his face in my hands,
“I love you, Cameron.”
I crashed myself to him, moving my mouth desperately against his lips as his hands roamed over my body. He kissed his way over my cheek and jawline, moving down my neck. He breathed in deeply as he nuzzled my neck, nipping and sucking on my bare skin.
“Do you want me to do this, angel?” His breath blew across my skin, scattering goosebumps over my body.
“Yes.” I breathed, barely able to speak.
I stifled a scream as he bared his fangs into my skin. He pressed his hand over my mouth, muffling my moans so the pack couldn’t hear. I tilted my head back and tangled my fingers in his hair.
“I love you so much, Navy and now you are mine forever.” He nearly growled, his voice dark and needy as his mouth traveled back up to my lips.
Before he had time to react, I grabbed a handful of his hair and forcefully pulled his head back. He laughed in surprise but it quickly turned into a moan as I sank my own fangs into his neck. He gasped and clutched my hips, pulling me closer to him as I licked the wound closed.
“And now you are mine.” I purred, kissing him hungrily.
“That pack’s coming.” I croaked out, hearing their voices in my head as they moved closer.
“To be continued, I guess.” Cam chuckled at the desire in my eyes and the disappointment in my expression.
I looked up at the sound of paws pounding across the sand. They all skidded to a halt when they saw us. Alistair trotted up to us with a stupid grin on his face, his tongue hanging out of his mouth. He took one look at us and knew exactly what had happened.
“Really? You couldn’t have waited until after the swim?” Alistair laughed at me.
“Shut up, like you have any patience, you horny wolf!” I yelled back.
“Holy shit guys, I can hear you!” Cameron’s voice joined the mindlink, causing us both to jump in surprise.
“Now none of us will ever get away with anything ever again.” Alistair grumbled.
“Is that Alistair?” Cam asked, looking at me. I nodded,
“Maybe we can continue this conversation later?” I raised an eyebrow as I looked at the crowd of werewolves.
“Are you wolves too scared of the water?” I challenged them.
Their giant, furry heads looked at each other before accepting the challenge. The entire herd started running towards the ocean, Alistair leading the pack. Alistair splashed right next to me, coating me in water. I dipped under the surface and popped out far away from those wild animals.
“You asked for this.” Cameron laughed as he swam over to save me.
“Bunch of dogs!” I huffed playfully.
“Only one is yours though, baby.” Knox paddled over to me in his human form, butt ass naked.
“You shifted?” I said, shamelessly looking over this body.
“Like what you see, baby girl?”
“Always, wolf.” I giggled as I found myself in his arms, kissing his lips. Cameron came up behind me, wrapping his arms around my back and kissing my neck.
“Now you wear both of our marks.” Cameron said.
“I couldn’t be prouder.” I smiled at my mates and watched as our pack playfully splashed in the ocean.
Eventually, the wolves dried off and shifted, and we all rejoined the party. My family was there, not wanting to invade in pack business. Nadia was looking particularly angry,
“What’s wrong little sister?”
“You promised I could crown you!” She glared at me.
“Oh, shit.” Knox hurried up to the stage and came down with a wooden box,
“Here you go, Nadia, sorry about that. I’m so used to Navy having her siren crown I almost forgot about the Luna crown.”
Knox opened the box in front of Nadia and her eyes widened. She carefully picked up the crown and walked over to me. The entire pack stopped talking and moving around to watch our exchange. Nadia held a golden crown in front of me. It was small and much simpler than the siren crown. It was made of delicate twisting vines all covered in a shiny golden cast. I bowed down so Nadia could crown me.
“Simply perfection.” My mother smiled at me.
“You are perfect in any crown.” My father agreed.
“You are the most beautiful Luna.” Fiona walked up to me and bowed,
“Much more beautiful and full of grace than I ever was. You will lead and shine much brighter than any Luna before you.” Fiona said. Meredith joined her, standing beside her mother to bow at me as well.
“I know you’ll be more capable than all of us.” Cordelia glides through the crowd, standing beside Fiona.
“You come from a legacy of leaders, Luna Navy, and you have the very best support in your mates, you cannot fail.” Fiona said.
I looked at my mates who were standing on either side of me and back to the Lunas and queen standing before me. I smiled widely and knew that I was finally living a life that I loved. A life filled with adventure, a life filled with love, and a life filled with family.
Epilogue
Knox
2 months later
“How far along are you two again?” Mandy asked.
“12 months.” “20 months” Tasha and Navy answered at the same time.
“Four months.” I answered Mandy, rolling my eyes at the ladies.
“It’s best not to anger a pregnant siren.” Cameron warned me,
“Or a pregnant she-wolf.” Dover added. I looked at the kitchen table to see both my mates glaring at me.
“Oh, my love, you look stunning.” I purred to Navy, puckering up my lips for a kiss that she forcefully declined. The entire room laughed at me,
“I told you that having a pregnant mate isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.” Mason chuckled.
“Oh how I cannot wait for this.” Clay said in a sarcastic tone earning a jab from Julia.
“I have an announcement!” Meredith stormed into the kitchen. She had one of the new members from Velvet Moon in tow.
“Yes, Meredith?” Navy turned her diplomatic gaze on her new sister.
“I would like to introduce to you my mate, Frank Daniels from Velvet Moon.” We all blinked at the poor fool.
“Oh, man, I’m so sorry.” Clay shook Frank’s hand like he was attending a funeral.
“Best of luck, Frank.” Jenna frowned. I opened my mouth to speak but Navy cut me off,
“Knock it off you lot. Welcome to the family, Frank.” She glared at me, threatening me to say something sarcastic.
“Of course, welcome Frank.”
“Thank you Alpha Knox and Luna Navy, it’s a pleasure to be a part of the renowned Greystone family.” He grinned.
“That’s what I thought at first, too….” Navy slapped Cameron upside the head,
“And, of course, it turned out to be true.” He rubbed his head, quickly correcting himself.
“Don’t mind them. I just became a Greystone myself, it’s quite something.” Navy grinned proudly, showing off her rings.
“Alpha! Luna! Rogues at the border!” A warrior wolf from the front gate mindlinked Navy and I.
“Which border?” I asked.
“All of them!”
Navy and I shared an expression before bursting into action.
“Clay, we are being attacked, ready the army.” I said just as Navy spoke to the ladies,
“Let’s get the women and children into the bunker quickly. Tasha, you go there straight away and begin to prepare it.” She ordered.
“But, Luna…” Tasha began to argue,
“Now!” Navy used her Luna voice against her and she submitted.
“Dover and Cameron, you aren’t to leave Navy’s side.” I said to the Gamma and our siren mate.
“No, Knox, take Dover with you.” Navy turned her orders on me.
“Love, I’ll have an entire army. You need protection, you and our son. It’s not up for debate.” I said sternly but softly, kissing my mate.
“Dover, call Alpha Fox on the way and then shift so you can protect your Luna.” I demanded.
“Yes, Alpha.” Dover nodded and pulled out his phone, quickly dialing Alpha Fox’s number. I overheard the conversation before heading out,
“Alpha Fox, it’s Gamma Dover…..that’s right, we’re under attack. Yes, it’s the rogues.” Alpha Fox seemed to guess what Dover was going to say before he said it. There was a brief pause in the conversation then,
“No, we haven’t had any visits from the Council but the past Alpha…..no we haven’t seen him. Yes, he could be capable of organizing this with the Council.” Dover looked at me with a guilty expression but I nodded in agreement.
“We need your help right away. Thank you.” Dover ended the call,
“They are coming. He’s calling the other packs.”
“Good, now go!” I kissed my mate again,
“Go straight to the bunker.”
“No, I’m going to help clear the packhouse first.” The look on her face told me not to argue.
“Cameron, after the packhouse is cleared, you get her to the bunker even if you have to carry her.” I grabbed a fist full of Cameron’s shirt. The look on his face told me that my threat was unnecessary.
“She’s safe with me, you know that. Take care of yourself, Knox.” He leveled me with a glare full of worry.
“I will.” I looked back Navy,
“I love you. Both of you.” I rubbed my hand over her stomach.
“You come back to me, wolf.” She squeezed my arm,
“Always, little Luna.” I promised her before running out of the kitchen.
The grounds were alive with fighting already, the rogues had broken past our borders by the dozens. Alphas Henry and Harper had already been informed, their pack responding as well. Between Velvet Moon and Blue Moon, we outnumbered the rogues but they were feral and more prepared. It was already turning into a bloodbath.
I burst into Alistair and he was ready for a fight. With Clay on my flank, we dove into battle. It wasn’t long before I sniffed out the culprit, confirming Dover’s accusations. My father was standing in the shadows of the forest with Elder Jacobs and a few other older looking men dressed in fancy robes behind him. The Council and my father had orchestrated an attack against us all because we dared to stand against them. I dared to take my chosen mate. I dared to mix the wolf bloodline with that of a siren.
Today, the Council would see what happens when you mess with the mate bond, when you threaten a man’s reason for living. I had no doubt that Alphas Fox, Noah, and August would come forward with their packs to help. Alpha Fox’s pack was just across the state border, it would take them less than an hour to get here. We only had to hold them off long enough for his pack to come. With more witnesses, the Council would likely try to flee, but we wouldn’t let them.
The Council was done. Their packs of feral rogues were done. Today was the beginning of the end, the start of the final battle of a war that should have ended long before it even started. The royal legacy would be fulfilled and the Council would fall.
