Chapter 474
On Twitter, an eye-catching title fell into Lucille's eyesight.
It had only been a month since her marriage with Franklin, but there were already scandals between him and two artists.
Lucille was devastated. She could not understand the reason for this. What did she do wrong? Could it be that Franklin just hated marriage, or in fact, he hated her?
However, she had no chance to ask as Franklin never showed up at the house ever since the day of their marriage.
"Your heart is guarded by walls, but I found a window..."
While Lucille was browsing Twitter on her phone, a phone call came in. It was an unknown number.
"Hello." She greeted.
"Hello, I'm calling from the hospital. Are you the wife of Franklin Moore?"
The person on the other side of the phone said.
"Yes, I am." Lucille's heart sank while she said this.
Could it be that Franklin has gotten into an accident?
"Good day, Mrs. Moore. For your information, Mr. Moore fought with someone in a bar. He is now in the Emergency Department of Genuine Hospital. Please bring his ID card over as the police will need to check it."
"Alright, sure!" Lucille immediately agreed.
After hanging up the phone, she rushed to the hospital with her credit card and Franklin's ID card.
While she was on her way to the hospital, she felt very anxious. Lucille had just graduated from college that year. Before she had the chance to step into society, she had to get married to Franklin according to her family's arrangements. Hence, she felt helpless when she heard that he was in the hospital due to a fight.
When Lucille arrived at the hospital, she saw that Franklin's wound had been bandaged. He was sitting on a chair in the emergency room corridor, next to a model with long legs. The lady was a part of the scandal mentioned on Twitter earlier that day.
Her name was Yvonne Brooks.
It was September, yet Yvonne was wearing revealing clothes. It could be said that Lucille's shirt used more material than Yvonne's whole outfit.
Although Lucille felt a little uneasy in her heart, she still took the ID card and went forward, motioning to Franklin, "Here you go."
Franklin was not surprised when he saw Lucille coming. He just calmly took the ID card and said, "Okay, you can go back now."
"I... I'm not going back," Lucille argued.
She was concerned about the bruises and wounds on Franklin's face and hands, but when she saw Yvonne sitting beside him, she was even more depressed.
Even though their marriage was arranged by their families, it was not her first time seeing him. They had met by chance before.
However, she knew that Franklin could not remember it.
In A City, everyone knew his personality. Thus, no one was willing to marry into the Moore family. However, when the Jules family asked Lucille about getting married to Franklin for the first time, she agreed right away.
"I'll be here. You can go back now. After all, it's already late." Yvonne chimed in as she held Franklin's arm.
This action was extremely irritating in Lucille's eyes.
If it was another hot-tempered woman, she would have already pulled Yvonne's hand away and scolded her.
However, Lucille did not do this. She tried to gather her thoughts together, but she did not have the courage to do so. She simply asked, "Can I accompany you?"
"You should return home."
She had expected this answer.
"Okay..." Lucille nodded.
She had always been obedient so she turned around after Franklin rejected her offer.
However, after just taking a few steps, she was reluctant to leave. She almost used up all her courage as she asked, "Mr. Moore, can I have a few words with you alone?"
"No."
Yvonne answered quickly without waiting for Franklin's answer.
"Just... Just two minutes."
"Okay. Yvonne, you can wait for me over there."
Franklin knew that it must have been a struggle for Lucille to request several times as she was not an expressive person. Thus, he had to ask Yvonne to walk away.
Seeing that Yvonne had left, Lucille sat on the bench next to Franklin although there was still one seat between them.
"Mr. Moore, do you hate me?" Lucille sat next to Franklin, her hand clutching her clothes as she spoke, and her voice was also very low.
"Yes." Franklin did not hide anything.
Lucille almost did not expect this; it was pointless for her even to ask the second question she prepared, but she was not resigned to this. "Why?"
"Lucille, it's useless for you to act pitiful with me." Franklin stood up and looked at her in her eyes. He spoke sarcastically, "Everyone knows how I am as a person. Please don't tell me you were not prepared fo this when you married me?"
"I thought you were well-behaved and obedient at first, but later I found out that everything was fake. Do you think I don't know your family's intention?" Franklin bent down his body slightly and squinted his eyes. "Your parents are too impatient. They haven't even bought my trust, but they were already borrowing money with my name. Are they trying to play pretend? Does your family think I am that stupid?" "I don't know about this." Lucille kept moving backwards while Franklin tried to see through her.
"You don't know? Lucille, I had a good impression of you at first, but since you decided to lie to me, you can just wait for my divorce agreement then," Franklin added and walked towards Yvonne, who was sitting not far away.
Lucille saw that Yvonne was looking at her. Her eyes, which were covered in heavy makeup, were full of arrogance.
She took out her mobile phone to edit a message, "I'll go home tomorrow and talk to my parents. Can you come home tomorrow? If they really have that intention, I'll agree to a divorce." After hesitating for a while, she tapped the "send" button.
