Chapter 109 This Is a Mistake
"Miss Kara, have some porridge."
Libby said softly, sitting by the bed to feed her.
"I don't want to have the porridge. Libby, you go out first and let me alone." Kara curled up by the bed, lowered her head and whispered to Libby.
Kara's voice was hoarse and her face was haggard. Libby felt distressed and comforted Kara.
"Miss Kara, everything will be okay. Don't be so hard on yourself."
"Let me alone."
Kara did not want to listen to anyone right now, she just wanted to be alone for a while.
"Miss Kara, you..."
"Get lost!"
Kara lost her temper. She grabbed the corner of the quilt, and the veins stand out on the back of her hands.
Her face was pale and her lips were dry and cracked. Several places were bitten by herself. There was still some blood at the corner of her mouth. She curled into a ball and trembled slightly. Kara was a good-tempered girl with good cultivation. Her voice was soft, but now it was hoarse.
She was like a trapped little beast, painful and hopeless.
Libby was stunned for a few seconds. Then she sighed. She knew that Kara was sad now, so she put down the porridge and got up to leave.
"Libby, I'm sorry."
When Libby walked to the door, she heard Kara crying and apologizing.
Libby's eyes turned red.
During this period of time with Kara, she had treated Kara as her child. Seeing Kara in such pain, she felt sad.
"I don't blame you. Miss Kara, no matter how hard the days are, take care of yourself."
Libby knew that Kara wanted to stay in the room alone. Therefore, she walked out and closed the door. When she turned around, she saw James facing her. She was so scared that she hit the door.
"Mr. James!"
"How is she?"
James' voice was cold.
"She's still crying." Hearing this, James clenched his fists.
Seeing that he was about to enter, Libby screwed up his courage and stopped him, saying, "Mr. James, Miss Kara's mood is a little unstable now. You should give her some time to calm down." James froze and looked at the bedroom door. He did not go in but stood by the door and did not leave.
In the room, Kara felt that her throat was a little sore, and felt pain from her lower body. However, she didn't care about it. She was still shocked by the thing that happened last night.
In her mind, she recalled the scene from last night. It was her who had wrapped herself around him over and over again.
But, why didn't he refuse?
Will was here, but why didn't he let Will treat her?
James was the person she trusted most. But...
She got out of bed and went to the bathroom. Looking at the marks on her body from the mirror, she trembled and her eyes turned red again.
She closed her eyes and hoped that what happened last night was just a nightmare.
However, when she opened her eyes again, the marks on her body were still there. She could not accept this.
James stood outside the door for two hours. He thought that if she cried for another two hours, her eyes would definitely hurt.
He went in, but he did not see Kara. He frowned, and looked down at the water overflowing from the bathroom.
He had a bad feeling in his mind. His face was pale as he rushed into the bathroom.
When he saw the scene in the bathroom, he was frightened.
James swore that he would never see that scene again in his life.
Kara sank in the cold water.
He picked her up and looked at her pale face, but he was afraid to check if she was breathing.
She was soaked in cold water, but her body was hot.
Wrapping her in a bath towel, James carried her to her room, changed her clothes, and sent her to the hospital.
Will had just arrived at his office when he received a call from James, saying that Kara had fainted and asked him to prepare to save her.
Will frowned, deep in thought.
Did Kara commit suicide because she couldn't bear it?
As night fell, the ward was brightly lit.
James's gaze was cold and a cold aura spread out from his body. The doctors and nurses stood far away as if they would freeze after they took a step closer. "Why isn't she awake yet?"
Will had just finished an operation and was about to go back to his office when he was stopped by a doctor.
"Mr. Will, please go over to Mr. James and take a look."
They didn't dare to face James!
Will pinched his eyebrows and turned to go to the ward. When he came in, he sensed the tense atmosphere in the ward. The group of doctors were all trembling and standing far away from James. When James lost his temper, he looked scary.
James asked in a cold tone, "Do you want to be mute forever?"
"You guys go out."
When the group of doctors heard Will's words, they quickly walked out of the ward without looking back.
Will was shocked, he muttered, "Your speed is too fast!"
Will turned around and walked to the sickbed. When he was about to lift the quilt to check her heartbeat, his wrist was grabbed.
"What do you want to do?"
'What else can I do? Of course, it is to examine her!'
James said coldly, "Don't touch her!"
Will withdrew his hand and shook his head helplessly. He thought, 'James is really overbearing!'
"She's fine. It's just that she didn't sleep last night and suffered a blow today, so she fell asleep for a while. At the latest, she'll wake up tomorrow morning."
James glanced at Will coldly. Then, he sat by the bed, held Kara's hand, and quietly guarded her.
"You..." Will wanted to persuade him.
The reason Kara fainted was likely because she was weak, and not because she wanted to commit suicide.
"You can leave now."
Will sighed helplessly.
Now James just wanted to be with Kara.
After Will left, James stared at Kara lying quietly on the bed, his heart surging with guilt and regret.
"Little fool, why did you hurt yourself? Why don't you tell me what you are thinking?"
He lowered his head and kissed her lips, moistening her dry lips before slowly letting go of her.
Kara woke up and turned to look at the darkness outside the window.
She turned around and found that her hand was grabbed. Then, she frowned and lowered her head.
When she saw James leaning against the bed, her face turned pale. She wanted to break free, but she was afraid of waking him up.
She looked down at his fluffy hair hanging in front of his forehead. His hair was different from hers. Her hair was soft, while his hair was hard. He was about to get engaged to Kathleen, so she couldn't be with him!
James had a nightmare. In his dream, Kara stood at the edge of the cliff. He rushed over and grabbed her hand. He said, "You jump, I jump." "Uncle James, this is a mistake. It is impossible for us to be together."
"There's nothing impossible to me!"
"Uncle James, don't push me!"
"Now, I am not your Uncle James. I am your husband!"
Kara lowered her head, and her tears fell on the back of his hand. Then, she flung his hand away without hesitation and jumped off the cliff.
"Kara!"
James suddenly opened his eyes and met Kara's shocked gaze.
She broke free from his hand, lifted the quilt, and wanted to get out of bed.
"Where are you going?"
He had just woken up, and his voice was deep and hoarse. Because of the nightmare, his voice was cold.
