The fast time Sebastian thoroughly studied Kate was after saving her from the South Moon Pack. She was unconscious for days,
and he had the chance to look at her as she slept.
At that time, her skin did not have that healthy glow, and Sebastian assumed that it was because of her depression under
Xander’s control. Despite having lost weight, it did nothing to reduce her natural beauty.
Kate had a long and pointed nose. She had a slender, youthful–looking face. She had soft and wavy long hair.
Aside from her physical attributes, Sebastian had heard of Kate’s contributions to the South Moon Pack. She had significantly
contributed to Xander’s Water Utility Company by expanding it. Kate connected with the South Moon Pack members, naturally
assuming the role of a luna. She initiated projects and much more, which could have belonged to the Wind Walker Pack if only
Kate had not run away to be with Xander.
He finally understood why someone like her wanted her freedom from him. Not only was she a person of privilege, but Kate was
also a stunning she–wolf. She could have any man she wanted. So, why would she marry someone like him, a cursed alpha?
Sebastian had already acknowledged Kate’s beauty, but the reminder of how she fled from their marriage made him decide they
were not meant to be together. Sadly, however, Sebastian needed Kate. He needed to be the next alpha king of Vottara, and
King Henry acknowledged the same. This was why King Henry suggested the marriage in the first place.
There was so much rebellion in Vottara that it was difficult to identify which alphas were reliable. Among the trusted alphas of
King Henry, Sebastian was the strongest, wealthiest, and the only one unmated. Naturally, King Henry was in favor of him.
Marrying Kate would add another powerful backing to Sebastian, a magnitude that would be enough to uphold him as an alpha
king for many years to come. So, when Kate woke up from her coma, Sebastian offered a marriage contract, giving her her
freedom after he would take the nation’s crown. As a favor for her cooperation, he would punish Kate’s good–for–nothing ex–
husband.
Once Kate would decide to leave, Sebastian would figure out on his own how to keep his crown. He would not possess what did
not want him, and that was Kate. Sebastian had already decided that relationships were a nuisance. He had learned the hard
way after trusting a woman in the past. Kate’s fleeing further reinforced his decision. She assumed the worst of him without even
knowing him.

Sebastian did not care what others said about him. From the beginning, he allowed the rumors about his disfigured face to
spread, even when it had gone overboard.

wife could be feisty when she wanted to. If she had her full strength back, they would know the kind of power she carried.
If holding his hand again wasn’t shocking enough, Kate took him aback by saying, “Seby, Honey, let’s take our seats. I’m so
hungry.”
‘f**k. Seby, Sebastian repeated in his head. This was the first time someone courageously created a nickname for him. ‘Seby.”
‘Haha! Seby! I like the sound of that, Alpha! Can I call you Seby too?‘ Zev
mindlinked with him. From where Sebastian stood, he could see how his beta was trying to hold back from laughing out loud.
‘Remind me to kill you later, Sebastian said back, but unfortunately, the threat did nothing to hold Zev from being amused..
‘Alpha, seriously. I like this one. You have got to keep her. Haha! Seby, Zev remarked.
Well, Kate was already holding his hand. They were walking side to side like a real couple. He wanted to boast about having her
because those other alphas could only wish to have Kate. Even if this was fake, at least he had her for now.
Thus, he intertwined his fingers with hers and, strangely, leisured at the feel of her soft skin and how their arms occasionally
touched.

When they settled in their seats, Kate did not let go of his hand. Well, since she did not, he did not either. Their hands remained
clasped until the Alpha King and his queen arrived.
“Good evening, Alpha King!” Everyone rose from their seats; the other alphas and lunas gave their regard to King Henry and his
wife. Unfortunately for them, Alpha King Henry and Luna Queen Regina only had eyes for Kate and the man beside
him. Sebastian.
“Kate!” Queen Regina called, her eyes sparkled as she approached. She stood before Kate and lifted her chin gently with her
hand, saying, “Finally, we meet.” The queen’s smile was from ear to ear when she described, “You took a lot from your mother;
so beautiful.”
Sebastian saw a very genuine smile from Kate. It was so pure that her eyes gleamed at the mention of her mother. Her smile
was so captivating that he did. not want to look away from her face.
Kate responded, “I wish I were like her in every way.”
“Having part of your father isn’t so bad,” Regina remarked. “I’m Regina.”
The Luna Queen turned to her husband and said, “This is Alpha King Henry, my husband.”
The alpha king extended his hand to Kate, which ultimately made her let go of Sebastian’s hand.
“It’s nice to meet you, King Henry,” Kate greeted..
They went through the dinner with the rest of the alphas and lunas overlooked by the alpha king and his luna. The royal couple
only entertained the elders, who had reports about the nation, including their compliments about Kate’s upcoming union with
Sebastian.

After the dinner, the alpha king stood up. He announced, “Alphas and Lunas, thank you for joining us and offering to welcome
Kate’s parents tomorrow. I appreciate your support towards the engagement of Sebastian and Kate. You are all dismissed.
Regina and I would like some alone time with Kate and Sebastian.” Hidden behind his mask, Sebastian had that smug look on
his face. No matter how these other alphas tried to k*ss ass with the alpha king, Henry did not give them the time of day.
Zev remained, of course. He was Sebastian’s right–hand man. His beta stood behind them as they talked among themselves.
“So Kate, we want to make sure you are certain of this marriage now,” Henry spoke. “How was your stay at the Wind Walker
Pack? How has Sebastian been treating you?”
Sebastian narrowed his eyes. Truth be told, he was afraid that Kate would sell him out. However, to his surprise, Kate replied,

“I won’t run away anymore.” Kate assured them. I promised Sebastian I would
not.”
“We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your marriage will do wonders for our nation,” the alpha king said with a smile.
After confirming Kate’s commitment, the royal couple allowed them to return to their rooms. As Sebastian promised, he took the
floor, merely spreading the comforter on the carpet and resting on one pillow.
Kate had just laid down in bed. Sebastian took the chance to ask, “Kate? How
many days did that stupid Xander put you in the dungeons?”
Sebastian noticed movement on the bed. The next thing he saw was Kate peeking down at him. She softly replied, “Five days.
Why?”
“Nothing,” he replied. “Go to sleep.”

“Okay,” Kate replied before laying back in bed.
‘Zev, Sebastian mindlinked. His beta was only four rooms away. He could still communicate with him.
Yes, Alpha? Zev asked.
‘Call our warriors stationed at the South Moon Pack. Tell them that I ordered Xander to be locked up in the dungeons for ten
fucking days!” Sebastian commanded.
“What reason do I give?‘ Zev asked.
“Tell him, I had a nightmare – that he came up to me and tried to k*ss ass. It was horrific! He needs to be punished for it!‘
Sebastian linked back. ‘Hahaha! Who knew you could be funny, Alpha!” Zev responded. ‘Do you want to join him in the
dungeons, Zev?‘ Sebastian asked. ‘No. No. I will do as you ask, Alpha Sebastian, Zev responded.
