Chapter 662 Did Nothing
"All right, all right. Since you can't get over it, you can just stay here for the meantime. Let's talk about it when you can. Sir, I'm handing him over to you. You can judge him as you like. I'm leaving now." Until the very end, Jay still didn't tell her the truth, so Doris had no other choice but to leave him here in order to avoid having trouble finding him if he went out.
It was very obvious that Jay was hiding something from her, but he seemed not ready to tell her yet. Of course, the police were not stupid. They also thought that there must have been a reason why Jay climbed the wall of Su family's house in the middle of the night, but he just refused to say it. Now they had to follow the requirements of Su family. The Su family insisted that Jay climbed their wall because he was a thief. They wanted to file a case against him so he would be liable for it.
If Jay wanted to go out, he had to ask either Doris, or the Su family's help. But now, since Jay didn't tell her the truth and the Su family didn't want to let him go, everything could only be done according to the procedure.
"Doris, I still have a lot of things to deal with in my company. Are your really going to leave me here alone?" Watching Doris' receding figure, Jay couldn't help but feel frustrated.
"Whatever. You can live and die here." After saying that, Doris stomped out of the police station.
Hopeless, Jay sat there, with his head down. He could only sigh at his miserable situation, and curse the Su family for their ruthlessness.
"Mr. Fang, you should tell us the truth now. If you don't, then we have to deal with it according to the procedure.
We all know that you don't lack money. Do you really have a hobby of stealing? Even if you do, you still have to explain what you wanted to steal." As the time went by and Jay still didn't speak, the police became more and more hopeless.
They wouldn't have asked so much if it weren't for the sake of Jay's identity.
After all, the Su family had made everything clear. They were giving Jay a chance to object, but he wasn't saying a word. Wasn't this equivalent to admitting his crime?
How could Jay be convicted in this way?
It was not they couldn't convict him, but if the news spread, they were afraid that the public would not believe it.
The dignified son of Fang family stole? And they didn't know what he had stolen?
It was too strange, wasn't it?
The policeman looked at him helplessly.
After a moment of silence, Jay raised his head lazily. "Give me your phone. I want to call Charles."
The police officers looked at each other when they heard the biggest name in town, Charles.
"Okay, Mr. Fang." Without hesitation, the policeman handed his phone to Jay.
If only these people knew that Charles didn't look better than Jay.
Why?
The night before yesterday, he went to the bar with Brandy. Perhaps he was too depressed that he got drunk, and they both didn't come home.
On the next day, he went straight to the office from the bar. He wasn't able to give Nancy a call because he was in a hurry.
Therefore, he thought his phone would be bombarded with texts and calls from her since she was worried that he hadn't come home last night. To his surprise, there was not even a single message from Nancy.
Did Nancy abandon him?
He shouldn't have been drunk, should he?
But how could he relieve his depression? Would Nancy be willing to have a quarrel with him?
What did he do with Brandy?
He did nothing.
The two of them came to the bar. Brandy sat on the sofa politely all the time and he made sure to sit in a distance. All they talked about were the interesting things that happened in high school. Later, they did talk about the future of Nancy and Brandy.
As a considerate woman that she was, Brandy said with a smile, "I can see that you love Nancy so much. To be honest, I'm a little jealous. After all, you are the only prince charming in my heart. I'm not reconciled to let you be taken away by other woman, but I'm rational and sober. I know you love her. As for whether Nancy loves you or not, that I don't know. But I still wish you happiness."
"Nancy loves me." Charles smiled at his own words. "And let me tell you, Nancy is a good doctor. You two could learn a lot from each other."
"Well, I'm a broad-minded person. Since Nancy wants to go back to work in the hospital, I think she should be the director of the Second Pediatric Department. I don't ask for too much. As long as I work in your hospital, I'll be satisfied." Brandy raised her glass and smiled, giving him a hint.
"I'll find another room to make an office for you. As for Nancy, she can go back to her own office if she wants, or she can go to the big office as she likes." To hide his melancholy, Charles took a sip on his wine. "Sometimes, I don't know what to do with her."
Watching Charles' every move, Brandy stated, "You really love Nancy."
"Yes, I love her, but she's like an iceberg, which always makes me helpless." Playing with the wineglass in his hand, Charles let out a heavy sigh.
"What does this mean? Tell me, what kind of woman is Nancy? What kind of woman can make the famous Charles helpless?" As she spoke, Brandy naughtily turned her head and took a sip of her wine.
No matter how persuasive she was, Charles was not really a man who liked to talk. He always thought that life was full of different kinds of things, and what we he needed to do was to solve them one by one. Moreover, he had always believed that there was nothing in the world that he could not solve.
But when it came to Nancy, even if he tried his best, he was always misunderstood.
Was this love?
Thinking of this, Charles took a big sip of wine.
Maybe it was because he was depressed, he ordered a bottle of brandy.
"Charles, don't make yourself feel wronged. You're a man and you don't need to be bothered by women. Most women like to be sentimental, so do I. But I think I am a good listener. If you have anything on you mind, just tell me. I'm all ears." A sympathetic smile appeared on Brandy's face.
"Thank you, Brandy." Perhaps it was because Charles badly wanted to talk to someone, or it was because he drank too much that he chatted with Brandy while drinking.
In this way, time passed by without him noticing.
It was late at night, and Charles was already so drunk. He couldn't remember how he drank cross cupped wine with Brandy.
All he could remember was he was laughing crazily.
In fact, Brandy even invited him to dance.
"Charles, I remember you were good at dancing when we were still in high school. I haven't seen you dance for a long time. Tonight is a rare chance to us to dance. Let's dance!"
"Okay." Unexpectedly, Charles chuckled and agreed. He turned on the music and began to dance with her. Brandy must be drunk, too. She took the glass and handed it to Charles. Then she took her own glass and held his arm. "Charles, is this how we drink cross cupped wine?
"Yes, but we two should be closer." Charles corrected Brandy's posture and then the two of them raised their glasses and drank the wine in their glasses.
