Just as she was about to head to the parking lot, a figure rushed toward her. Grabbing her slender arm, it forcefully pulled her aside.

The change in Curtis was truly drastic. He had lost a significant amount of weight and hadn't shaved his beard, looking even more disheveled than the last time they met.

Aurelia pulled back with all her strength.

When she saw Curtis again, she felt no emotions at all.
This is the way. A scumbag like him isn't worth any emotional turmoil on my part.
Curtis' felt a heart-wrenching pain, as if someone was slowly driving a knife into his heart. "You used to constantly tell me you loved me, that you wanted to marry me. We even made a vow together, promising we would never part in this lifetime. Do you realize, you're breaking that vow now?
"You've been secretly involved with Melanie for quite some time now. Not only have you learned to twist the truth, but you've also picked up some acting skills?" Aurelia remarked sarcastically.
She noticed that anyone who had any connection with Melanie seemed to mirror her behavior. It was so shameless that they were like two peas in a pod.
"I... Melanie and I aren't what you think. She deceived me by making me believe I was falling for her. But the truth is, I've always loved you, and that has never changed. Aurelia, you've made a mistake too. We've both walked down the wrong path. We've both made mistakes. I forgive you. Can you forgive me too? The only person in this world who can truly love you and sincerely wants to marry you is me." Curtis' bloodshot eyes were fixed intently on Aurelia.
When she looked at him in the past, her eyes were always full of love.
In contrast to then, all he could/see in her eyes was nothing but indifference.
"No, you made an unforgivable mistake, not me," Aurelia said with regret.
I've wasted seven years of my life with him. Seven years ago, I can only say that
I was blind. How did I fall for someone tho's so disgusting?

isn't the right place for it. How about we go to that burger joint we often visit?"
Even if he was seething with anger, he could not let it show.
He still had the drug that Melanie had given him in his hand.
Just a moment ago, he was still hesitant, not wanting to resort to such desperate
measures.
However, he now blamed Aurelia for forcing his hand by not obeying him.
"Let it go, Curtis." Upon hearing the mention of burgers Aurelia felt a wave of
nausea.
