Chapter 148

Chapter 148 Discovering Nancy’s Whereabouts
“I’m incredibly happy, Linda. You can’t even imagine how happy I am. My life feels complete now.”
On that day, she was overflowing with excitement, a big, foolish smile plastered on her face. Unfortunately, her marriage only
lasted for two years and ended in failure. Her love story had reached its conclusion. It was painful, especially for Nancy, who
loved deeply. She would never have let go. unless she had been hurt so deeply and thrown into a pit of despair.
Linda suddenly realized that all the consoling lines she had memorized for her shows were useless. She couldn’t find the right
words to comfort her friend. I’m so foolish. Nancy can easily cheer me up, so why can’t I do the same for her? In the end, Linda
filled Nancy’s plate with all her favorite food. “Eat. Eat as much as
you want.”
Nancy smiled. “You don’t have to do this, Linda. I’m already happy that you’re here for me.”
Linda couldn’t hold back her tears any longer and began to cry. She stood up and walked over to Nancy, giving her a tight hug.
“I’m sorry, Nancy. I can’t find the right words to cheer you up. I’m not like you.”
Nancy smiled. “Of course not. Life is fair. God gave you looks and talent, and He gave me the talent to uplift people. If you have
everything, I would be jealous.”.
“How can you come up with such things on the spot?”
“Alright, stop crying. Aren’t you trying to cheer me up? It feels like I’m the one cheering you up now.”
“Oh, right.” Linda quickly straightened her back, wiped away her tears, and returned to her seat. In fact, she was a clever
woman. This way, she could divert Nancy’s attention from the aftermath of her divorce. “Let’s not talk about that. Let’s just eat to
our heart’s content. The sun should be setting by the time we’re done. I’ll take you to the beach.”
“No more work for the day?”
“Nope. Some actors have some issues to deal with, so we have two days off. Everyone gets to rest.”
Nancy was deeply moved. She had no words to express her gratitude and began to tear up. The steam

Nancy extended a finger and wiped the corner of her eye. Linda was the clever one between them. She had always been
mischievous and clever since childhood, and everyone loved her.
from the food covered it, so Linda didn’t notice anything
Nancy knew that Linda being free was no coincidence. Linda must have taken two days off to spend time with her. Once Nancy
left, Linda would have to work twice as hard to catch up.
Having hot pot together was the perfect opportunity for friends to have a good chat. The ladies talked a lot, but Linda tried her
best not to bring up Nancy’s divorce. After the hot pot session, they went to the seaside.
Linda had a convertible, and she drove while Nancy sat in the passenger seat. The sun was beginning to set. The sky was
painted orange, and the clouds looked vibrant. It was a beautiful sight. Palm trees lined. the road, and the cool sea breeze
brushed against the ladies’ faces. It washed away the sweltering heat
of summer.
Half an hour later, they arrived at the seaside. Nancy was worried because there were many people there. “Linda, you might get
recognized. Are you wearing sunglasses?”
Linda flicked her hair back. “Don’t worry. I dressed casually today. I look like any ordinary girl, so it should be fine. I think.”
Nancy was reminded of how Linda had been recognized at the mall before, and she became concerned. She took out a pair of
sunglasses and helped Linda put them on. “Just to be safe.”
The ladies arrived at the perfect time. The sun had just set, so the temperature was not too high. The sea breeze felt soothing on
their skin. Since neither of them could swim, they didn’t go into the ocean. They simply took off their shoes and strolled along the
shore. A gust of wind blew across the beach, and waves crashed, splashing their feet. Beneath them, the sand was soft and
smooth, even better than stepping on cotton.
They took a leisurely stroll and started taking photos before it got dark. The ladies took photos of each other. Even though they
didn’t have any photography skills, they looked beautiful, so they looked great no matter how they took their pictures.
“Let’s take a selfie, Nancy.”
“Sure.”

The ladies smiled and froze that moment in time through the photo they took. Linda captured a great angle and took the best
shot of them.
“This is perfect. Gorgeous. I’m going to post it on social media,” said Linda.
Nancy said, “Don’t let Nicholas see this.”
“Why? I want him to see this. I want him to know that my friend can live a great life without him and that she can still shine
without him.”
“I just want to forget about him for a couple of days,” said Nancy.
“Alright. I won’t let him see this, then. I’ll block him.” Linda then posted the photo on Instagram.
Luke quickly checked his phone when he received the Instagram notification. Since the afternoon, Nicholas had been asking him
to go for a drink. It had been five hours. Nicholas was the one drinking while Luke and Samuel stayed by his side. Initially,
Nicholas was only drinking out of depression. He wouldn’t tell them why, but he eventually got drunk and blurted out, “We got
divorced.”
“You got divorced?” Luke and Samuel asked simultaneously.
“Yeah. I received the divorce certificate yesterday.” Nicholas took another sip of his drink. Halfway through, he leaned on the
table, looking dejected. “We just got divorced, and she couldn’t wait to move out of the house. She even flew to Swania today.
What’s more, I have no idea where she went or why she went there.”
The more Nicholas spoke, the worse he felt. Samuel held his glass, swirling the red wine around. He raised his head and drank
it. “If you want to, you can easily find her.”
She’ll have to take rides and book a hotel room. As long as she makes a single transaction, Nicholas can easily find
her if he wants to. However, apart from having to show her ID when she bought the plane ticket, Linda had taken care of
everything else for Nancy. She didn’t even have to spend a single cent.
“I can’t find anything except for her flight ticket purchase.”
“Not even hotel check-ins?”

“No.” Nicholas shook his head.
Luke was scrolling through Instagram. When he saw the wefie of Nancy and Linda, his eyes widened in disbelief. He was
worried that he might be seeing things, so he made sure it was really them before saying excitedly, “I think I know where she is.”
Nicholas rushed over to him and eagerly inquired, “What? Where?”
