Chapter 207
Was he filthy?
Everett's eyes were stormy, veins popping on his forehead as he stared at Selena. He suddenly broke into a smile, a chilling one at that. The anger he had been holding back erupted like a volcano. He seized her wrist, pulling her up and dragging her to the big full-length mirror in the dressing room. His strong hand gripped her shoulder, forcing her to face the mirror to see her disheveled state. Everett stood close behind her, his breath warm on her neck as he kissed her lightly, whispering harsh words in her ear. "You think I'm dirty? Who isn't dirty then? Callum? Let me tell you, you're out of your league with the Campbell family, and Callum won't have you!" Selena was burning with shame and anger. Her lips trembled as she shot back, "Everett, you're not even close to Dr. Campbell. Any random guy is cleaner than you!"
Before, knowing about his entanglement with Margot hadn't made her this sick because their marriage was forced right from the start. She couldn't win his heart, and she'd accepted that.
He didn't even like her then and was cold towards her, but he now pretended to love her, making her a tool for his convenience again. It made her skin crawl.
"Fine," Everett chuckled darkly.
His hand tightened around her neck, pressing her against the mirror, lifting her from behind, and taking her with a fierce resolve.
"Mrs. Bennett, even if I'm dirty, you're still under me. This is what you get for insisting on marrying me! What right do you have to call me filthy?"
Selena's face turned ashen, as she curled up in pain.
She thought to herself, 'Yes, this is my punishment for falling for the wrong person and foolishly begging for his love. I missed my chance, did not learn my lesson, and really brought this upon myself.' She glanced in the mirror and saw how humiliating she looked and how heartless Everett seemed behind her.
They were doing what should be the most intimate of things between a husband and wife, yet there was no warmth and only relentless cruelty.
She closed her eyes, biting her lip hard, trying to shut out everything.
Everett wouldn't let her escape, showing no mercy and deliberately saying harsh things to provoke her.
Selena's heart felt like it was being torn apart, piece by piece, and trampled on the ground.
They had developed some
understanding over time, and Everett knew how to make Selena find pleasure in this, but today, he didn't want her to be happy. He wanted her to hurt, to know that he was her man, and she had no right to defy him.
Time dragged on painfully, each minute and second unbearable. After what seemed like forever, he let go of her, and without his support, Selena slumped to the floor. en FindNovel
She looked a mess, her face pale and lifeless, like a broken doll.
Everett looked down at her from above. He waited for her to give in, but she just hung her head, lost in thought, refusing to say a word.
After a while, he snorted, turned on his heel, and left. The bedroom door slammed loudly behind him.
He took a shower in the guest room, wrapped himself in a bathrobe, and walked to the window, lighting a cigarette.
Smoke swirled around, blurring his
handsome face. His body felt
satisfied, but his heart felt strangely
empty. This odd feeling left him uneasy, only fueling his anger further.
