Mates of a Werewolf Hunter

Chapter 31 Who Did You Call ?

Valentine Winters P.O.V

His eyes started to flicker from blue to black. Even I had a slightest want and need to kiss him.

Just when he was about to crash his lips upon mine, there was a ring of a bell making him snap out of his lust filled trance.

His eyes went back to his natural blue and he growled lowly annoyed. He released his hands from my body and stomped over to the room door and opening it.

“Yes?” He gritted clearly annoyed.

“Luggages sir, sorry for any interruption.” I heard a frightened voice.

He stepped aside making them walk in the room and stack the luggages far at the end near the wall. Once they were done, they went out and Lucifer closed the door shut.

He ran his hand through his hair, sighing frustratedly and walked over sitting on the bed. I was just there, standing like a complete fool not uttering a single word.

Too afraid.

Who wouldn’t be ? Anyone whose been through in my shoes would act the same like I am now.

He looked over at me and I turned my gaze down onto the floor. “Sit down.” He commanded.

I obeyed and slowly sat down, my eyes still locked onto the floor. He cupped my jaw and slowly made me turn to look at him.

“I’m really tired right now Val. I want you to put on some night clothes and sleep beside me. Do you understand ?” He groaned.

I just nodded.

I got up searching through the bags, I saw silk material of pyjamas, sleeveless shirt and shorts.

Does he want me to wear this ?

I sighed and took them, going into the attached washroom. I changed my clothes.

I came out of the washroom, seeing him only in his boxers. His shirt was off down on the floor.

Once he saw me, he motioned me towards him. I walked over the bed, climbing over and lied down my head on the pillow. My back to him, trying to be as far away from him near the end.

I felt an arm go around my waist and he pulled me towards his chest. His breath fanning across my ears. “I want you as close to me as possible Val, never try to be away from me.” He growled out the last part.

I gulped and closed my eyes, letting sleep take over me.

Wolf.

Attack.

Blood.

War.

Lucifer.

I woke up panting. I turned around and once I saw his sleeping face, I instantly calmed down.

It was just a nightmare.

It was just a nightmare.

It was just a nightmare.

I kept repeating to myself.

I saw the phone on the table and I had an urge to call my dad and tell him that I was fine or to where I am.

I looked back to Lucifers sleeping face then back to the phone.

What should I do ?

Should I call or not ?

Will he find out ?

Will he get mad ?

Thoughts kept churning in my mind and I made a decision to just call my dad.

I must take my chances.

Hopefully he doesn’t wake up.

I slowly took his arms away from my waist, moving forward, I just placed it on the bed. He moved a little before snoring softly again.

I carefully slid down from the bed, sitting on the floor. I took the phone into my hands dialled the number, placing it over my ear with shaky hands.

My heart going for an overdrive.

Beep.

Beep.

Beep.

‘The person you’re calling is currently busy’

The voice said.

I almost wanted to cry at the moment.

I tried again.

Beep.

Beep.

Beep.

“Hello.” The moment I heard my father’s voice, I was mentally leaping in joy. I couldn’t even speak from how happy I was.

“Anyone there ?” He continued.

“Dad ?” I whispered.

There was silence.

All I could hear was his breathing.

“Valentine, Is that you ?” He asked.

Tears started to well up in my eyes.

“Yes.” I sobbed.

“Where are you ? Has he hurt you ? I’ll pick you right up. Where are you right now ?” He enquired turning into a frenzy.

“I-I’m I-in a hotel.” I said, tears flowing down. I looked up over the bed, checking if Lucifer was still asleep and luckily he still was.

“A hotel. What is the name of it ?” He asked.

I didn’t know.

I let my eyes wander around the room and saw a tissue over the table. I quickly picked it up and searched for the name of the hotel.

“It’s Auburn L-Legacy Hotel.” I answered.

“I’m coming.” He said.

“No, don’t dad.” I whispered.

“Don’t come.” I cried.

“That’s final.” He interrupted and kept down the phone.

I kept the phone back and got up. Turning around only to look upon Lucifer’s vexed face.

My eyes widen.

“Who did you call ?” He asked crossing his hands over his chest.
