Chapter 29
Asgeir POV
"We have to take you back Asgeir." He said and looked at me.
"I can't leave him. No, I won't leave him." I said and looked at Arkyn who pinched the bridge of his nose.
"Look, from the looks of it, you're about to give birth, you can't do that here. How you going to raise that baby here?" He said looking at me with that fatherly look he always had.
When I didn't say anything, but rather just looked away and at, Aeldit's weak face, he sighed and motioned for everyone to leave the room, till it was just us there.
"I love him so much Arkyn. You don't understand. He means everything to me, I feel like I won't be able to breathe if he isn't near me." I said and looked down at Aeldit.
"I understand. We'll take him with us, but I can't guarantee that Dad and Father will like that." He said as he placed a hand on my shoulder.
"Once they see what a lovable and caring person he is, they will." I said and smiled at him.
He was about to say something when a soldier barged in, starting us both.
"Your majesty, we found someone on our way out. The left commander requested that I ride in and inform you. It appears as though he's been living here a while. He doesn't seem to remember who he is." The soldier told Arkyn.
Arkyn nodded at him and told him to get a few others to help me into the ship and to carry Aeldit out.
"And get someone to wake this asshole up." He said pointing to an unconscious Gregor and made his way out to see just who this survivor was.
_______________
Third person POV
Arkyn walked with the soldiers through the forest as he thought about his little brother and shook his head.
Trust Asgeir to fall in love with a Dragon.
He knew it was going to take alot of work and effort not to let their parents' kill Aeldit, but he was prepared to do all it took to keep the dragon safe.
After all, he had witness himself, just how much the dragon loved his little brother. To such as extent that he used his own body as a shield to protect Asgeir and their unborn child. If that wasn't love, then he didn't know what was.
He was happy that his brother had finally found love. It didn't matter with who it was, as long as that person loved and would protect him, and Arkyn knew for certain, that Aeldit would.
He couldn't be more grateful that his brother would not be tied down by Gregor anymore, since the latter had begun to get on his nerves. Pretending to be so worried about Asgeir, when Arkyn had seem him a number of times in brothels, fucking around with almost any man.
Arkyn was however worried about what would happen next. With his brother about to give birth, the entire game had changed. Not only was he not going to be willing to finish the ceremony that had been agreed between two kingdoms, but he was also carrying an heir that was half dragon.
Akryn could only pray that a war not break out because of it.
Once he had reached the shelter made from wood and stone, he turned towards the soldier who told him the man was inside, but before he could enter, the soldier told him that it looked like the man was completely terrified and traumatized, and that he should be careful. He told him that the soldiers would be outside if he needed help.
Arkyn nodded and pushed the door open slightly and was met with the sight of a trembling man, huddled up in a corner. He walked towards the man and touched his back.
The man jerked and turned around in a fright. His eyes widening when he saw Arkyn, looking at him with his eyes, just as wide.
"Aron" Arkyn whispered as he felt his heart crumble into a million pieces, and his eyes well up with tears.
"Arkyn." Aron whispered as memories began to flood through his mind. For years, he had wandered around, not knowing who he was or how he had gotten here.
All he could remember was waking up on a ship wreck with no memory at all. He had wandered around for how long, he didn't even know, when he suddenly saw ship upon ship sail up to the shore. He was about to call for help when he saw the dragons flying across the sky spitting out fire and killing off the humans that came to land.
He was so struck with fear, that he had hid away all these years. But what had caused him his trauma, was years later, when he had witness a bloody war, wherein the humans had brutally and ruthlessly killed and murdered the dragons. Including the baby dragons. When he closed his eyes, he could still hear their screams.
"Aron, do you remember me?" Arkyn asked as he bent down and passed his hand over Aron's cheek.
Aron threw his arms around Arkyn and sobbed onto his shoulder.
"How could I have ever forgotten you?" He asked out loud and hugged his lover like he hadn't seen him for eighteen years.
Arkyn cried as he held onto Aron, and kissed the side of his neck. He never ever thought that he would ever get another chance to hold him again.
"I love you, I never stopped. Not even for a second." Arkyn said and brought his lips to Aron's, kissing him like his life depended on it.
"I love you too. So much." Aron said in between his their kisses and kissed him back.
Arkyn finally had his other half back.
