Chapter 1252
When they descended from the third floor and surveyed the lobby, as well as the area outside the hospital, Ben couldn’t see their shadows.
Veronica Murphy stood on the steps outside the lobby, placing her hand on her forehead in helplessness. “No, perhaps I saw it incorrectly?”
“Do you want me to have someone check for you? If she’s in the hospital, we can find out,” Matthew Kings suggested. Veronica Murphy waved her hand. “Never mind, maybe I made a mistake. Let’s go upstairs and check on Skyler Robins.”
She sighed helplessly and turned to follow Matthew Kings into the lobby and up the stairs. A couple of minutes after they left, two individuals emerged from behind the corner where the green plants were located..
Shirley Wilson stood beside Wade Yoder, and they both gazed in the direction of the lobby. Her anxious heart began to beat faster, as if it were about to leap out of her throat. “Why would Veronica and President Kings come to the hospital? I think I heard them say they were going upstairs to see Skyler Robins?”
Why would Skyler Robins be at Riversouth Hospital?
Is he unwell?
“Perhaps… you misheard,” Wade Yoder said for some reason. When he caught sight of Veronica Murphy, he felt even more nervous than Shirley Wilson.
For some reason, he always had a sense that something was about to disappear. That feeling was dreadful.
Observing Shirley Wilson standing still, furrowing her brows and deep in thought, he added, “Skyler Robins is a doctor who came to Bloomstead. The medical facilities there are top-notch, so why would he come to Riversouth?”
Shirley Wilson looked up at Wade Yoder and nodded. “Maybe you’re right.”
VIP ward. Due to some unexpected business matters, Matthew Kings briefly explained the situation to Skyler Robins, “This came up unexpectedly. Once everything is settled, Roni and I will come over.”
“It’s not a big deal, you don’t have to make a special trip.”
Skyler Robins responded with a smile. The buddies had a close relationship and understood each other well. They also knew that Matthew Kings was a composed individual, so if it were a minor matter, he wouldn’t be in such a rush to return to Bloomstead.
Once he spoke up, it definitely wouldn’t be a trivial matter. Without saying anything further, they conversed with Skyler Robins for a while and then hastily left Riversouth Hospital.
On the other hand, Wade Yoder left the hospital and returned to the clothing design studio to work.
Shirley Wilson felt bored in the ward, and her mind kept dwelling on what Veronica Murphy had just mentioned. After much hesitation, she descended the stairs and began inquiring with the nurses at each floor’s station about the situation.
“Excuse me, which room is Skyler Robins in? I’m her friend and I came to visit her.” Nurse: “Skyler Robins? There is no patient with that number on this floor.”
Without obtaining any results, Shirley Wilson proceeded to the next floor to continue her inquiry.
After questioning all the floors below her, Shirley Wilson went back to her own floor to inquire.
After asking countless times, when Shirley Wilson was about to give up, feeling parched and exhausted, the nurse standing there said, “Skyler Robins is in the 3302 VIP ward. Why are so many friends visiting him today?”
The nurse mumbled to herself. Upon hearing the nurse’s words, Shirley Wilson recalled seeing Veronica Murphy and Matthew Kings in the morning and speculated that Miguel Lynch and Caleb Shaw might have also come.
Her eyes flickered as she pondered, then she asked, “Is his condition serious now? My friend is afraid to disclose the truth because she doesn’t want us to worry.”
She deliberately engaged the nurse in conversation.
The nurse considered the fact that many people had visited Skyler Robins today, and also felt that the girl in front of her seemed gentle and delicate, so she didn’t think much of it and said, “He sustained a liver injury from a car accident before, and he didn’t receive prompt treatment, so his condition is quite severe. Our director mentioned something about him yesterday, what was it?”
The nurse scratched her head, pondered for a moment, and then said, “I remember now, they said he might also be experiencing mild depression.”
