Chapter 43
Chapter 43
"You want a house for your grandpa?" Jonathan asked again.
Estelle didn't say anything, they were too close, and she could hardly breathe.
At this moment, she felt like she saw Jonathan's devilish side.
Jonathan bent down and kissed her lips lightly, and then let go, his voice was husky and deep, "I'm a businessman, I don't make losing deals, a house for one night, I'm at a loss."
The man exuded an air of tenderness and composure, but upon closer observation, his eyes betrayed a profound sense of indifference and coldness.
Estelle didn't eat last night and had been exercising for so long. Her amino acids were lacking, and her brain couldn't function properly, so she was confused.
She didn't quite understand what he meant, "What are you trying to say?"
Jonathan stared at her, "Did you have fun last night?"
Estelle took a breath, her hands under the blanket were sweaty.
"This house is close to the University of J City. If you live here and have class at 8:30 in the morning, you can still sleep until 8:15. After this house completely belongs to you, you can even bring your grandpa over," Jonathan said calmly.
Smart people don't need to say things too bluntly.
Estelle's eyes widened in slight surprise. "You want me to be your mistress?" she repeated, taken aback.
Jonathan's expression remained stoic. "Isn't that what you desire?" he replied.
Estelle gazed at him, then suddenly turned her head and burst into laughter.
The more she thought about it, the more funny she found it was. She lay down on the soft bed, buried her head in the blanket, and laughed, her shoulders trembling.
"What are you laughing about?" Jonathan asked.
Estelle lay on the blanket, turned her head to look at Jonathan, her eyes filled with tears from laughing, sparkling. After a while, she calmed down and said softly, Jonathan, you're at a huge loss! With your looks and figure, you're losing out even if you sleep with a woman for free, let alone give her a house. Are you sure you're a shrewd businessman?"
Jonathan's countenance remained unchanged, yet his eyes grew colder and deeper. "What do you mean?" he questioned, his tone tinged with suspicion.
Was she mocking him?
Estelle laughed again, then sat up on the bed, facing him, "You're right, I had a great time last night, and we don't owe each other anything. But the part about me sleeping until 8:15 really tempts me, so I accept your proposal. However..."
She looked around the room, "If you rent this house, it would be about 30,000 to 40,000 a month, right? I only want to rent this room, and I'm still a poor student, so how about I give you 5,000 a month for rent?"
She laughed and leaned closer to him, "As for the rest, we do what we need. When you come, if I agree, we can have fun just like we did last night."
Magdalen said to enjoy life timely, she used to scoff at it, but now she thinks it's right, because the experience with this man twice made her happy, and she might consider having it long-term. This should have been her rightful marriage.
Besides, this house close to the University of J City does tempt her.
So, in an instant, she made this decision.
Jonathan met Estelle's gaze with a penetrating stare, his own eyes narrowing as he questioned her with a hint of skepticism, "Are you absolutely certain?"
Estelle was very calm, "Yes, if you agree to charge only 5,000 for rent."
Jonathan got up, regaining his elegant and indifferent appearance, looking down at her, "If you were a hunter, you'd be a good one."
Estelle maintained a calm demeanor as she responded, "Rest assured, I have no intention of playing the role of a helpless victim."
Jonathan's
gaze remained fixed on her, and after a prolonged moment, he mustered a smile that concealed any trace of emotion. "Very well, let's keep it lighthearted and focused on enjoying ourselves. Money and emotions need not enter the equation."
Though he couldn't fully decipher her, it didn't hinder the mutual satisfaction they found in each other's
company.
With the marriage agreement dissolved, he could have a partner.
He thought, someday he would find out what she really wanted.
Estelle thought for a moment, and smiled faintly, "If we find someone we like, we'll tell each other honestly and end it peacefully."
"No problem." Jonathan nodded slowly, glanced at his watch, "It's Monday today, I have a meeting in the morning, I have to go now. Someone will bring clothes for you later. I don't come to this house very often, you can use any room except for the master bedroom and my study."
Estelle kept a shallow smile, "I really got a bargain, thank you for your generosity." Jonathan glanced at her with a half-smile, walked out and closed the door for her.
