Fight for Me

Chapter Go to mate

Nicholas’ POV

It’s late at night and the pack-house is quiet.

Rebecca’s been trying to get all over me, but I’m just not in the mood. Well actually, I’m always in the mood, but my mind is a bit preoccupied with other things. My wolf keeps pacing in my head continuously muttering things of ’mate this’ and ’mate that’.

Which just fucking annoys me. He never acted out like this the past few weeks.

Yeah? Well that’s because mate was here. With us. Safe.

I sigh deeply at his rant.

She is safe. She’s with the others and still on our property.

No! Go to mate. Bring mate here. We keep mate safe.

You’re like a child.

And you’re a dick-head.

I’m already pacing in the office trying to control my breathing. I didn’t even hear someone come in.

“What’s got you so worked up?” I look up at a smiling Tyler.

But my wolf is pacing in my head too, trying to claw his way out. And I know he’s just doing it to piss me off even more. He’s not going to let me get a moment of peace until I give in to him.

“My fucking wolf is the problem.” I mutter out

Mate. Mate. Got to mate.

Gggrrrrhhhh!!!!!!

“Woah there Nicholas. What’s going on with him? He usually only acts out around people.” Tyler looks at him worriedly.

“I need a drink.” I walk to the liquor table pouring a glass of scotch.

I down it the instant I pour it, letting the burn down my throat distract me a bit.

“You want to talk about it?” Tyler says suggestively with a hopeful smile.

I just sneer at him.

He chuckles.

I pour another glass, but I stop as I feel a voice forcing through the mind-link.

ATTACK!! Rogue attack near southern border!!.

Just hearing that, I drop the crystal decanter and rush out. I hear Tyler following behind me and already sense the other warriors running to help.

Fuck! The cabin is near the southern border.

Once outside I immediately shift into my pitch black wolf and run towards the southern border. I can only hope patrols could intervene before the rogues could get to the cabin.

I give control to my wolf and I can feel him pushing us forward with even more speed.

Mate.

I can hear him say it. But it’s not towards me, but rather for himself. And frankly, I share his concern. She’s human. The chances of a human surviving a rogue attack is next to nil.

A few minutes later I already hear the sounds of fighting wolves and I immediately jump in. Everyone is split up far apart, and I can’t see her. But this is way further into the territory, past the cabin.

Shit!

I attack any and every wolf in my way to move further in. To get to her.

I hope I'm not too late.
