Chapter 41 TIME TO FEED
They went back into the room and found Scarlet still awake but drowsy. Her eyelids were heavy and she was leaning on Kayla for support. When they walked into the room Scarlet held out her hand to Stephan and he quickly went to her side. With his bound hand, he took hers and immediately regretted it.
Scarlet’s eyes were fixed on the once white cloth now turning to a deep shade of muddy red. As much as she tried she couldn’t pull her eyes away. Slowly she lifted her fingers and gently brushed them over the cloth, feeling the moisture and dampness of his blood as it seeped through the already drenched cloth.
Stephan pulled his arm away when he realized how fixated she was on it. “Don’t worry about it. Just drink this.” He took both her hands and wrapped them around the mug, his own still lingering just in case she couldn’t hold it up.
“Drink it all up, Solara has another mug for you once you finish this. Don’t worry there is more from where that came from.” He smiled.
Scarlet pushed the mug away from her lips and looked up at him, “I know you are trying to make this easy for me but I am aware of the sacrifice you are making, and I thank you from the deepest part of my soul.”
“Giving you my blood to drink is nothing compared to the lengths I would go for the three of you. I would give my life for you.” He motioned the mug back to her lips.
Scarlet couldn’t have gotten a better man if she had made one herself. She took small sips of his blood at first, her eyes fixed on his face. But the more she sipped the more control she lost to it. It was taking over her and there was nothing she could do but surrender to its power. His blood was that of two powerful immortal races but the love in which he gave it to her made it all the more potent.
In seconds she had gulped down the entire contents of the mug. Her senses lusting after more of the blood, it was like a drug whose high she couldn’t get enough of and all she wanted was more and more. She slapped her tongue against her lips taking whatever remnants that were left then sucked on her tongue.
“I know that this is going to sound creepy but I got to be honest, baby you taste good.” Scarlet could feel her strength seep back into her once lifeless body. She could feel his blood juice up her body from her head to the tip of her toes.
“Maybe we shouldn’t give her anymore. She looks fine right now, maybe that’s all she needed.” Kayla got concerned about the thoughts Scarlet was now having of her husband. For a couple of fleeting seconds, she regarded him as her meal instead of her husband.
“Why would you want to do that, can’t you see how much good it’s doing for her.” Susana refuted.
“From where I’m standing it’s doing too much good. I know you don’t get it but Solara does and I am very worried.” She blocked Susana’s way as she took the remaining mug of glass from Solara and offered it to Scarlet.
“They can work through the complications this will bring to their marriage later. Right now we have to think of the baby.”
“Scarlet?” Kayla looked to her friend to decide although she didn’t trust her judgment.
“Kayla’s right. I don’t want to wake up one night chewing on my husband. But I-,” she stuttered, “Let Stephan decide.”
“She drinks it. As long as she gets stronger I do not care how much I have to give. Besides I can always replenish it.” He took the mug from Susana and held it to Scarlet’s lips.
Scarlet bit into her lower lip as the scent of the blood rose to meet her nostrils. It was tempting and she could feel all her restraint being broken down one by one. She wanted a taste of it, she wanted all of it but she didn’t want to seem greedy or insensitive.
She swallowed hard then looked up at Stephan, waiting for a sign that it was alright to want his blood as much as she did at that heartbeat even though her desire for it was greater than her desire for him.
“Drink it and don’t worry about me.” He touched the mouth of the mug to her lips and Scarlet couldn’t resist it. Hungrily she feasted on it not coming up for air until the mug was licked clean.
She lay back on the bed and let the power of his blood roam free through her body once more. She could feel every nerve in her body get shocked back into life.
“Thank you so much.” When she finally got back to the ground Scarlet reached up and pulled Stephan in a bear hug. She held on to him as tightly as she could while ignoring the new scent that radiated off him. He smelt delicious. She inhaled the intoxicating scent around him then pulled away immediately.
“I need to take a shower.” Quickly she climbed out of bed.
Come with
Right behind you.
Scarlet put her back against the wall once it was shut. This time the baby inside her wasn’t wearing her down it was her conscious. For the first time since she had met Stephan, she desired him differently.
