Chapter Chapter Eleven
"Sam! Sam!"
The voice shouted in the darkness. I was walking around aimlessly trying my best to follow the voice and find my way out. My eyes flickered to a bright light in the distance and I proceeded to make my way towards it. I could now see a figure, the posture and the height looked like it could be my mother. Another body appeared, slightly taller. Could it be my father?
As I got closer and closer they became more clearer. My eyes widened as I stared at the two of them, my parents.
"Mom?" My voice echoed through the darkness and she smiled in response. I turned my gaze over to my father. "Dad?" He smiled and gave a nod.
"I miss you guys so much." I whispered, a tear slipping down my cheek. My mother reached over and wiped the tear from my face.
"We're here with you." She said placing a hand on her chest.
"We're so sorry Sam, for everything." My father spoke this time. My eyes flickered between the two of them and I shook my head.
"I was so mad, but I couldn't bring myself to hating you guys. I couldn't."
"Sam...we understand." My mother said. "It's up to you and your bother now. Save the world.
I gave a nod as the two of them took a step back and disappeared into the light.

My eyes shot open and I quickly sat up. Beads of sweat were dripping down my forehead. I looked around for a bit, noticing all the beds were empty. Before leaving the bunk bed room, I quickly fixed my hair and made my way to the dining area. Everyone was gathered at the table and there were tons of plates filled with food.
"Good morning Samantha!" William called out to me as he waved me over. I gave a smile as I slowly made my way to an empty seat between Noah and Kyle.
"Morning, How'd you sleep?" Noah asked as he took a sip of his coffee.
"Okay, I guess." I replied with a shrug as I poured some coffee in the empty mug in front of me. My eyes flickered around the room, everyone engaged in conversation. As I took a sip of my coffee, my thoughts wandered back to the dream I had last night. Which felt so real. After hearing the story from my grandparents side, I was really mad at my parents for keeping all this a secret from us. But, I couldn't hold a grudge forever, and also, my parents were gone and they weren't coming back.
My gaze shifted over to Kyle who had a mouthful of pancakes.
"Hey, I need to talk to you." I said as he turned to look at me. He swallowed what he was chewing and the two of us made our way back to the bedroom.
"What's up?" Kyle asked as I closed the door.
"I had a dream...about Mom and Dad last night." I admitted to him. He raised both eyebrows and gave a nod for me to go on.
"It's like, we were having a normal conversation. They said they were sorry, and that it's up to us now to save the world. I know you're mad at them, but I can't be. They had their reasons for leaving here, but we're here now, you and me and the rest of the group."
Kyle just stared at me as he took in a deep breath before letting it out slowly.
"I know, I was pretty pissed off at everything. At them." He said with a heavy sigh. "I'm not mad at them anymore. I mean, we have our grandparents now and the rest of the group, and we have each other. We still have a family. We got this." He said with a hopeful smile.
"Yeah we got this." I replied with a giggle as the two of us pulled each other into a hug.

Our entire morning consisted of a tour around the island. Every person that lived here, were a part of everything that our grandparents had started. Generations of families working together to keep themselves afloat. Since our arrival, everyone was a lot more hopeful than before. William and the others made sure to keep this place protected from the president and luckily for them there weren't any sightings of the government in the past few years. But they still made sure to keep themselves safe.
When we all got back to the bunker, we gathered around the dining area to discuss our next plan.
"We infiltrated the White House once, we can do it again." Alec spoke up as we all focused our attention on him. "Now that we have this place, the support from your grandparents, we have the strength to take the capital down."
"The whole capital." Joe added.
"Are you serious?" Krista spoke up her eyes widened at what he said.
"He's definitely serious." Ben crossed his arms over his chest. "Months ago when Sam and I went undercover, when President Martin gathered everyone. Hundreds of people were on his side. Hundreds."
I gave a nod in agreement. Ben and I were there. Seeing all those people cheer and support the President made me sick. But the good thing was that we were slowly gathering more people on our side. It was hard at first but the work slowly paid off.
"You all know I'm a little too old to fight." William commented which made us all laugh.
"You're crazy!" Oliver exclaimed. "I'm ready to shoot any government fucker, get me my rifle!"
"Okay, okay." Dave said with a chuckle. "We have the numbers. The problem is, the entire capital is with the president. So how do we handle that?"
"We try and change their minds. It's gonna be hard, really hard. But we have to." Noah spoke up this time. The room got quiet for a moment as everyone was lost in thought, trying to figure out a set plan, that won't get anyone killed in the process.
"Okay, we just have to put our heads together and figure this out. We've succeeded in a lot of things in the past.." I spoke up this time. "Even though we lost some people in the process...but their deaths will not be meaningless."
I looked at everyone as they all gave a nod.
"Alright Sam, what do you think we should do?" Linda asked which made me raise my eyebrows. I blinked a few times and thought for a moment before shaking my head.
"I-I don't know, yet." I replied with a sigh.
"We keep on training." Noah spoke this time. "Jill and the others are safe in the underground bunker. There's no way they'll be found there. The rest of us, we keep on training, until we're ready to take down the government."
"And how are we going to do that?" Ben questioned with a raised eyebrow.
"We have the technology right? Let's use that to our advantage."
"I'm surprised they haven't seen the drones in the first place though." Ben commented.
"It's called camouflage." William replied. "We made them look like birds, clouds, anything that looks...normal."
"That's smart." Krista said with a nod.
"So we train for now?" I questioned and looked over at everyone.
"Until we put together a plan." Joe answered. "In the meantime, you kids are gonna stay here, the rest of us are going to head back, keep Jill in the loop. We'll send word when it's time." He said.
The next morning, Joe, Dave, Alec and Linda got back to the boat to head back to the capital while the rest of us stayed behind. Of course I didn't mind since it gave me and Kyle some time with our grandparents.
"Hey, come on." Noah said as he tapped my arm. I turned to look at him for a second and then back out at the water where the boat finally disappeared from view. Taking in a deep breath, I turned on my heels as I followed him and the others back to the truck. We had a lot of training to catch up on.
